When the floods happened just recently a folks lost alot so I wrote this song in their memory!

WASHED AWAY

Written and performed live during a Friday night stream. This one came together in the moment - just voice and guitar exploring what it means to let things go and find what's underneath.

The lyrics move through themes of renewal and release - that feeling when everything you've been holding onto finally gets swept away, and you realize maybe that's exactly what needed to happen. There's something about water as both destroyer and cleanser that keeps surfacing in the song, along with the strange relief that comes with surrender.

The song sits somewhere between traditional folk and something harder to define. There's space in the arrangement for the words to breathe, and the guitar work stays hypnotic without getting in the way of the story being told.

This is the raw version - no overdubs, no studio polish. What you hear is what happened in real time, captured through the Apollo X4 with the Danelectro baritone doing most of the heavy lifting.
