Roaring Waterfall | Water White Noise For Focus, Studying, Sleep Or Relaxation (75 Minutes)

Earlier this summer I had a chance to participate in a remix competition hosted by my friends Disco Fries. The original was a trance-y track at 146BPM but I decided to slow it down by 15BPM and turn it into an energetic piano house track. And this is the result.

I loved Alix's vocals and found an interesting loop/hook in them that gave me a bit of a nostalgic summer vibe, so I decided to lean onto it with the piano and overall feel of the track. Some people have told me that it has a 90's house feel to it which I didn't necessarily go for but I can see why with the selection of the kick, classic M1 piano and M1 organ as well. I also purposely wanted to make drums feel a bit weird to give it a distinct character.

A few days ago, I ran a marathon in state #29. Check out "Run the Race" to hear how it went before, during, and after the Pacific Northwest race near Seattle. Best part was sharing the experience with our son, who cheered me on at the finish line. The title of this episode references one of my favorite movies, from decades ago, because I got less than 3 hours of sleep before trying to run the 26.2 miles fast.

I talk about the epic concert - with 3 superstars - that led to that lack of sleep...traveling from Georgia to Washington state, then a cool uber to the race start...what it was like running the all downhill race on a sandy trail with gravel, the pros and cons...solid pacers and scenery...what changed at mile 22...bling, scars and a big burger after.

There are also stories about our adventures in Seattle and just East of there: what it was like going through the mazes of the very hip Pike Place Market...hiking to different waterfalls...going to the top of the famous Space Needle...pizza at a unique place next to the "gum wall"...and a Christian ministry taking over part of the big city. And I close the episode out in prayer.

#210: Sleepless in Seattle Before Running Marathon (Downhill) in the Pacific Northwest

Written for flute/piccolo, bass clarinet, violin, cello, and piano, Once a Sea (2023) re-imagines the land of gorge that was once a sea. Through gestures of water lapping, swirling, swarming, falling, rippling, splashing, the ensemble weaves together texturally in several layers. The shaping of a gorge mirrors my life journey from an islander transformed into a continent dweller. As the piece unfolds, the five instruments come along with different colors and intensity to express energy bursts that shape into moments of dwelling. Once a sea, it is now a land where water continues to travel.

This track is a compilation of voice memos recorded on iPhone, during a trip to Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands & North Vancouver, BC. Recordings were made while walking along trails and coastlines, taking ferries and listening to the environment for signs of life in the stillness of the night time. Headphones are recommended to hear some of smaller sounds and lower frequencies picked up on the recordings.

Hailing from Estonia, Rob Vice emerges as a dynamic artist in the global house music scene, infusing his tracks with South American rhythms, World Music and a soulful touch.

Rob’s earliest musical influences came from playing GTA and being completely hooked on the music showcased on those in-game radio stations. GTA Vice City in particular also influenced the creation of the Rob Vice alias, which combines an Americanized version of his real name and the Vice City thematic.

His collaboration with SSOL, "El Canto," amassed 100M+ social media views and over a million streams to date. Supported by esteemed artists such as KSHMR, CID, Andruss and Kryder, Rob is set to expand his reach further in 2025 with a packed release schedule and a debut EP.

Outside of music, Rob has been involved in the startups and tech sector and he loves to work on innovative ideas and technologies. In high school, he also used to be a big chemistry nerd and has placed high on various chemistry olympiads and competitions.
