Well here we are in a brand new group for another ten weeks of songwriting in an hour!  Lately I have been hearing Francesca talk a lot about people like us living their wildest creative dreams.  I have found over my past two terms in the Club, that my passion for songwriting and working with others has grown and will continue to do so over time.  I decided to put these thoughts in the form of a conversational song between myself and Francesca, and I might even share this with her as well.

Francesca we need to talk
I think we should go for a walk
To say all the things I've been meaning to say
And I don't want to sound like a dork

Oh what can I help you with?
Are you having some kind  of tiff?
Is it something that I could easily fix
And have it resolved in a jiff

I want to do more co-writing
Because I find it so exciting
To be placed in a group and to flesh out ideas
And it's just always been so inviting

Oh I can accommodate that
You will write songs in zero time flat
Keep honing your skills and don't run for the hills
When you feel like you don't have the knack

I want to give retail the boot
But only if something will suit
All the skills I possess with the things I can do
And then I will no longer feel mute

Oh don't give that up just yet
Because if you do you will regret
Not having a job while you sort out your life
And then you will become quite upset

I wish to write songs for others
My musical sisters and brothers
They'll be so impressed with the things I can do
And I feel I have all bases covered

You'll find that it's really rewarding
And the process is so absorbing
When you write and perform on each other's songs
You may finally get your calling

I think I should level up
Bud do you think I've done enough
I've penned 20 songs in the songwriting club
But I've done heaps of other stuff

You still have a long way to go
But you must be willing to show
All the members each week that you have what it takes
To display all the things that you know

To reach out for my wildest creative dreams
And to know what I do will suffice

Why a woman says she needs space to know what she wants & what you should do.

In this video coaching newsletter I discuss an email from a 29 year old viewer who is new to my work. Recently his 31 year old girlfriend of 9 months broke up with him saying she needed space to know what she wants. They are still hooking up, but he says waiting to hear from her is eating him alive. Why Did She Say I Need Space To Know What I Want?

Protis has been writing music since 1998, when he was still in high school. The name Protis came about from watching the TV show Pokemon; his original name was Piggy, and just how Pikachu evolves into Raichu, well he decided that Piggy would evolve into Protis. The name has stuck ever since then.

Protis is a big fan of computer-based music.  The first computer program he used for music purposes was Cubase Lite on good ol' Windows 3.1 operating system.  Over the years he moved on to Cubast VST, where he further developed his skills as a songwriter.  Most of his early recordings were instrumental works, as at the time he was unable to compose decent lyrics.

After a while, Protis decided to leave the realm of General MIDI and progress into the world of loops and samples.  He accomplished this by using the ACID range of products.  Countless hours were spent with this brilliant piece of software, coming up with lots of cool beats.

Protis has also dabbled in the FruityLoops software, now called FL Studio.  He utilised FL Studio to write songs which contained his first self-penned lyrics.  He was surprised at just how well his lyrics came across in each song, fitting in well with the music.  And all this from someone who could never write words to his songs!
