Arie Fajar Dewantoro, known as ARFADE, is a DJ and producer from Indonesia who delivers a fresh, groovy, and energetic take on house music. Starting behind the decks at a young age, he quickly gained recognition for his dynamic sets and intuitive connection with the crowd before transitioning into music production in 2017. He channeled his club experience into original tracks like "Welcome to the Jungle" and "Percussion", which gained support from artists such as Angger Dimas and Osvaldo Nugroho, putting him on the map of Indonesia’s electronic scene. By 2019, his sound matured into a more intricate, organ-driven house style—blending soulful grooves and rhythmic detail that reflect both his roots and passion. With every release, ARFADE continues to craft music that moves bodies, lifts spirits, and brings people together on the dance floor.

🎧 Who Is J-Lektro? 🎶

J-Lektro is the electronic music alias of @Jamian, a Chicago-based DJ, producer, and audio engineer with a rich musical heritage. Born in 1994 on the South Side of Chicago, J-Lektro is the grandson of Willie Mabon, the first artist to have a hit record on the legendary Chess Records, a legendary Chicago label that worked with iconic blues artists like Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and Koko Taylor, as well as early rock and roll pioneers such as Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, and the influential Etta James.

Growing up in a family with such a strong connection to Chicago's musical history has deeply influenced J-Lektro's artistic vision and fueled his passion for creating innovative, genre-bending tracks that pay homage to the city's rich musical legacy.

🎹 Early Influences and Musical Development

J-Lektro's musical journey began at the age of 12 when he first started experimenting with music production software like Ableton Live, Pro Tools, and Reason. While his grandfather's blues and R&B roots provided a strong foundation, J-Lektro's early influences also included legendary Chicago house producers such as Frankie Knuckles, Marshall Jefferson, and Larry Heard, as well as UK garage and grime artists like MJ Cole and Wiley. A visit from Chicago house music legend Joe Smooth served as a catalyst, igniting J-Lektro's passion for house music and properly introducing him to the scene.

J-Lektro's dedication to his craft and innovative approach to production have earned him recognition as one of Chicago's most promising young talents. In 2019, at the age of 25, he was named one of NPR's top 5 DJs to watch from Chicago, cementing his status as a rising star in the city's electronic music scene. His dynamic, high-energy DJ sets have captivated audiences at clubs and festivals across the city, showcasing his ability to seamlessly blend classic house tracks with cutting-edge electronic productions.

His tracks have been featured on numerous compilations and radio shows, including Pete Tong's BBC Radio 1 "Bedroom Bedlam" playlist. Having cut his teeth as one of the original resident DJs at the seminal Venus, Nottingham in the early 90’s, Christian went on to play at most major venues across the UK and Europe during the halcyon days. Early in the decade he was named ‘one to watch’ in MixMag, gained pride of place on the Face Magazines’ barometer of “What’s Hot and What’s Not” listed as “…a Balearic DJ who can mix…” and later was named DJ of the Month in i-D Magazine – which in turn led to a coveted place on their World Tour alongside Tony Humphries.

His career blossomed further in the ensuing years and bestowed him not only with the privilege of playing alongside such luminaries (and musical heroes) as David Morales, Roger Sanchez, Masters at Work and Danny Tengalia but also his original inspiration, Graeme Park. By the mid 90’s he established himself as a staple at the legendary Southport Weekenders and secured a monthly residency at the Ministry of Sound. A disco-tinged house sound rapidly became his trademark and was also prominent in his later production work under the Nu Soulboy moniker with remixes and releases coming through such labels as Virgin (VC) Records and Todd Terry’s SoundDesign imprint. More recently his production work has been reinvigorated with two tracks coming out during 2023 and further releases slated for 2024.

To this day, he continues to produce and DJ - remaining an ambassador for “soul-based music to dance to”.
