Underswap: DISLOVANIAC (cover)

Glitch hop time! This track has been in the works since "There For You," it actually distracted me for a bit of time from completing it. This is full on TheFatRat  inspired glitch hop with the Potang twist of just super crazy happy lol. At the time, this was the most fun I had had with a song's composition. When I made the first solo, I knew that this was going to be great. 

This is the first time I've legitimately pursued getting signed to a label (barring the impulsive submission of "Dove") and it was a good learning experience. While I thought it was perfect for Glitch Hop Community, it ended up being rejected. I believe it's due to how upbeat and joyful it is, as well as how melodic it is. Submitting to LabelRadar didn't help either, as I received 5 listens and 4 rejections on a "One-To-Many" submission. While I still believe this is label quality, it's obvious that I'm not quite there yet. Maybe in the future!

I'll also be releasing the stems for free! Feel free to remix the song as you please, all I ask is that you message or comment me the link so that I can check it out! And if you want to put it on streaming platforms, contact me so we can work it out. I'm definitely not opposed!

What I learned:

1. Using the drums from TheFatRat's sample pack really helps replicate his sound (obviously)!
2. Reverse reverb swell for an intro!
3. Kilohearts Tapestop is better than dBlue Tapestop. I think. Reverse tapestop!
4. Layering
5. Solo harmony!
6. Having an instrument panned left to right
7. A trash attempt at a sub drop
8. Halftime!
9. Bitcrushing for an outro
10. Countless new effects for ZGameEditor Visualizer
11. Pluck sound design (and a lot of sound design!)
12. LOTS of mixing; this is easily my best produced song in terms of mixing
13. Mastering too! Basically using a soft clipper, setting its threshold to 0 dB, and then smashing the gain into the soft clipper for extra loudness
14. I think I learned the HaaS effect here?
15. Chorus!
16. Using (and beta testing) a new plugin that is not released yet.
17. Learning how TheFatRat mixes and masters, then taking that knowledge to form my own style of mixing and mastering
18. Gaining a new friend who helped me a ton ;)
