Episode Two Hundred Fifty-Six: The Nature and the Natural

Bienvenue dans le 23e épisode d'Exposed consacré aux petits atomes et aux gros boom.
Car nous ne sommes apriori pas ici pour parler de BARBIE ou de MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 27 mais de cette autre sortie commerciale estivale : OPPENHEIMER, adaptation par Christopher Nolan d’« American Prometheus – Oppenheimer : Triomphe et Tragédie d’un génie » dans sa sa traduction française- de Kai Bird et Martin Sherwin, biographie sur la personnalité homonyme, à qui l’espèce humaine doit le cadeau empoisonné dont il sera question dans ce film et (au moins) trois autres que nous aborderons également. 
Un mois d’août d’il y a 78 ans, les forces américaines lâchaient une première bombe nucléaire le 6 sur Hiroshima et une seconde le 9 sur Nagasaki. Qu’est-ce qui a mené à l’élaboration puis à l’usage de cette arme de destruction massive ? Et quel avenir a-t-elle ouvert à l’humanité ? Le film de Nolan résonne à l’évidence avec une actualité où l’expression « hiver nucléaire » ne paraît plus catégoriquement désuète (elle n’aurait vraisemblablement jamais dû le paraître), l’année où le G7 a eu le bon goût de se dérouler à Hiroshima, durant un été propice aux résonnances mémorielles. Avec la figure cryptique, ambivalente, sciemment indéchiffrable de J. Robert Oppenheimer, c’est ce legs qu’il convient aussi d’interroger. 
Notre regard se portera ensuite sur un contre-champ radical au bombardement que le film ne montre pas : PLUIE NOIRE de Shohei Imamura, sur les conséquences à long-terme pour des victimes de la bombe de Hiroshima, ceux qu’on appelait au Japon les « hibakusha ». Cap ensuite sur de la prospective morose - et dans les deux cas britanniques de la fin de la Guerre Froide : le long-métrage d’animation WHEN THE WIND BLOWS de Jimmy T. Murakami et le téléfilm de la BBC THREADS de Mick Jackson. 
Pour fissionner ou fusionner l’atome, selon nos éventuels consensus ou dissensions, sont présents 1) Thomas - qui tenait pourtant tant à ce que cette émission porte sur l’autre grand succès de l’été- 2) Alex - à qui l’on doit sur Filmexposure une étude détaillée d’un film d’Europe de l’Ouest (LA SOURIS QUI RUGISSAIT) et d’un autre d’Europe de l’Est (LA GUERRE), au tournant des années 50 et 60, sur la menace atomique 3) Sébastien qui s’est en dernière minute englouti ces trois feel-good movies pour venir en parler avec nous. Une fois lancée, difficile de dire où notre course à l’armement cinéphilique s’arrêtera.

Now I don't personally believe I'm in the same league as #Bowie, other than my lyrics, more often than not, making more sense, but I do think I share his ability to adapt to different genres, and his endless, diverse, creativity, just not quite on the same level.

I'm not proficient/accomplished on instruments, & I have other musical limitations, but most genres come natural to me, and I much prefer having that unforced ability to being highly accomplished on instruments, highly polished on production, or having the perfect voice!
