Commercial fireworks: Up Close and Loud is a collection of commercial-grade fireworks – the big stuff - shooting from mortar tubes not 20 feet from my microphones. Each thunderous burst is heard directly overhead. Many feature a long decay at the end. The result is an assemblage of sounds filled with power and punch. Every round leaving its tube gives off a solid gut-thumping boom. Only such nearby access can provide this perspective. 

If fireworks aren’t your thing, that’s cool. These files could have been used for any number of WWII movies I grew up watching and will put you right there on the battlefield again today.

Whizz story...
Always up for some experiment, he started mixing his favorite tracks in eclectic cocktails somewhere around the turn of the century. Driven by passion, Whizz was playing in the Belgian scene on a regular basis only 3 years later.
For more than 20 years now, Whizz has been around, constantly evolving, setting ablaze clubs, venues and festivals in Belgium, Germany, France, The Netherlands, Sweden, Croatia & Morocco.
Along this - quite adventurous - road he got to play together with a lot of his favorite artists such as Extrawelt, D-Nox & Beckers, Andhim, Dirty Doering, Nico Stojan,...
As one of the original 4 of Feestgedruis, Whizz got signed immediately when Sweet Trade Bookings was founded at the beginning of 2012.
And after a wonderful first year and an exciting spring & summer season, with gigs at parties & festivals in Belgium and abroad, yet a new adventure started in the fall of 2013...
Whizz got invited by the legendary club, Café d'Anvers, to become one of their new Residents.
Besides DJ-ing, Whizz has been organizing parties for more than 10 years, together with his mate A3, a.k.a. Charlie Fraîche.
Operating under the guise of “Smiley Tribe”, they aim to bring people the best in minimal progressive dance music in a compelling, visually attractive & uplifting party concept.

Hello, I'm Richard Alan Hannon, an audio field recordist based in Northeast Ohio. I love searching out and recording unique high-quality soundscapes and sound effects near and far. As a former newspaper photojournalist who concentrated solely on visuals, I find myself smitten by sound in ways I never experienced prior to hitting the record button.
