Not too long ago, Mocha(pictured)😉 asked for some early 70's Jazz Funk mainly for his music listening reference and to share his Jazz Funk experience with y'all! As a Jazz Funk enthusiast, Mocha thought that he ain't got enough Jazz Funk! Spoiled cat! 😉

Tribute to legendary Jazz Master award winner Jimmy Smith (Jimmy was cats lover by the way) and his highly regarded West coast crew!

What happened on February 8, 1972 at the Bombay Bicycle Club, Los Angeles, California? It was rumored that invited guests including Donald Byrd on trumpet, Joe Farrell on tenor sax, Fred Wesley on trombone, Herbie Hancock on second keyboard, Billy Cobham on second drum-sets, Al Green lead male vocal, Nina Simone lead female vocal and Hot Buttered Soul Unlimited background vocal in addition to this live session! Shit didn't happen as venue promoters were low on cash plus potential legal challenges amongst records labels...etc, it would have been a f**king awesome session! 😉

Seriously😉, I was there with few crates full of Jazz Funk records hoping for a 2 hours after party DJ gig but shit didn't happen when studio, records label executives, venue promoters asked me same question "WTF do I know about Jazz Funk?" Besides all, bouncers said I was little too young to be inside the club & you know the rest of the story! To top it off, Mum said Jazz Funk was accountable for my Vodka, Lucky Strike non-filter cigarettes consumption and the use of made in U.S.A Zippo cigarettes lighter at my early age! 😉

Mixing, mastering notes: Raw 24/96 digital audio files continuously mixed using Sony Acid Pro 7 (without beats mapping and EQs involved = Spinning records on turntables without pitch, tempo controls and no DJ mixer)😱 
Final mix mastered with several different mastering specs for different listening environments! This version was specifically mastered for my car reference audio system and I hope it'll work with yours! Happy listening!
