Stories and Worldviews is the third of three books that document and disseminate the key themes of my PhD research, Designing Design Possibilities of UK Public Breastfeeding for Maternal, Infant, and Planetary Health, by Sally Sutherland. Alongside Bodies and Feelings and Relationality and Proximity, this book examines the cultural and paradigmatic aspects of public breastfeeding. It explores how designed worlds embed cultures and ideologies and how these, in turn, shape understandings and practices around breastfeeding. It also considers the potential to reimagine design through the lens of breastfeeding and care practices, offering new perspectives and insights that challenge existing norms.

This PhD research was supported by the University of Brighton and funded by AHRC Design Star DTP.
