With Wanderings (one), Slovak artist Hendriks Toth delivers an introspective, sensory, and deeply nomadic project. Conceived as a sonic travel diary, this vinyl album gathers seven compositions recorded in cities across the globe — each track born from a specific place. Far from being a literal geographic document, each piece is an emotional fragment, an inner landscape shaped by the sounds of the outside world — captured, transformed, and reassembled.

Blending field recordings, analog textures, granular processing, and subtle rhythmic motifs, Hendriks Toth crafts a sensitive ambient and experimental work. He doesn’t aim to describe places, but to translate their inner resonance: the tension of a Tehran alleyway, the dry heat of Jeddah, the vibrant chaos of Kolkata, the slow calm of Maputo, the urban pulse of New York, the sacred silence of the Pamir mountains, and the restrained gravity of Kyiv.

Each side of the record traces a path :

- Side A explores the East — from the Middle East to Asia — with rich cultural contrasts and organic soundscapes.

- Side B moves toward the Atlantic and remote highlands, in a more introspective and meditative atmosphere.

- Digital bonus, recorded in Kyiv, extends the journey in a darker, more spectral tone — echoing memory, persistence, and resilience (access the bonus track exclusively on our Bandcamp with the code included with every vinyl purchase).

Wanderings is not a map, but a drift. A poetic and emotional meander through a moving world, filtered through the ear and soul of a traveling artist.

Frankfurt’s Phil Evans has a knack for distilling the essence of Deep House into something that feels both timeless and alive in the moment - a skill honed over years of running labels, curating releases, and playing marathon sets as a Robert Johnson resident. On "Free", the B1 cut from his second studio album "E-Motions" on his own Freizeit Records, Evans delivers exactly what the genre promises at its very best: depth, groove, and an unshakable sense of sophistication.

Deep, velvety chords lay the foundation while airy pads drift through like late-night fog over empty city streets. A spoken vocal - “I just want to be free, cruising through the streets, to that beat, moving in my seat” - threads itself between the beats, adding a human warmth to the precision-tooled production. Torture the Artist - your source for contemporary electronic music

Torture the Artist is a webzine, or a magazine made for the internet, geared towards those with a passion for contemporary electronic music, with subgenres including Techno, Tech House, Deep House and Eletronica, as well as a small amount of Indie and Alternative. Founded in 2014 by Holger Breuer, a German native and lover of the arts, Torture the Artist now consists of five team members from all around the world.

In addition to publishing interviews, music reviews, DJ charts and track premieres, the webzine hosts out a  podcast series called 'art:casts'. This medium gives DJs and producers the artistic freedom to highlight their different musical styles while not being restricted by factors such as setting, and connecting them to a wider audience. 

Being in its ninth year, Torture the Artist has gained a strong and active online support group, including music enthusiasts to label managers and artists themselves, creating a cohesive community with music as their bond.
