Uruguayan producer Z@P, now based in Berlin, takes the lead of the A2 with 'YFM'. Recorded in the early days of lockdown in 2020, the track is a moody and gutsy piece reaching for dark places. It has a kind of techno atmosphere combined with a soft BPM, but what makes it special is surely the subtle pad touches slipped between the beats of the powerhouse bass. SAIS005.5 — a companion piece to the PMA EP by B-2DEP’T released on SAISEI earlier this year — is a unique one-sided 10” EP featuring a remix by Uruguayan producer Z@p. The Phonoteque resident reworks ‘BSMH’ with a classic 80s electro beat and bassline, funking up the groove for all the breakdancers in the crowd. The original vocodered lyrics — “Body/Sonic/Mental/Health” — resonate today as much as they did back in 1993, acting as a mantra for a new rave generation.

Since early 2000, Z@p has been a fixture on the local and regional music scene, contributing to its development both as an artist in the booth and behind the scenes with his work in artist collectives, music labels and clubs.

Based in his hometown of Montevideo, he currently forms an essential part of Phonotheque nightclub, a spot with a cult following that has come to position itself as one of South America's most respected underground clubs. 

Influenced by local heroes and friends Bruno Gervais, DJ Koolt and Nicolas Lutz, Z@p's style could best be defined as a unique melange of techno, breaks, electro and the odd curveball, with which he tends his musical lines—both evolving and hypnotic.

At DGTL, we differentiate with balanced programming. By giving talent a platform, we can develop our own headliners and form long-lasting relationships with artists from early on.

DGTL builds bridges between music styles and genres, aiming to blend different audiences and cultures. Our line-ups are a combination of the power of our global DGTL brand, and all the beauty that local cultures hold. We want to be inclusive for every gender, sexual orientation, origin, color and country. Everyone always should be and feel welcome at DGTL.

With DGTL Records we build on our festival’s musical theme of an evocative cross section of the sounds and styles; showcasing forward thinking, cutting edge artists. Besides this, the label also functions as a platform for newcomers. This results in the creation of a coherent selection of music with a true family vibe; we want artists to feel connected to the label, the people behind it and to the other artists. 

Our in-house label DGTL Records emerged from the DGTL festival brand and has a single focus on music and community. It combines both upcoming talents together with established artists, bringing unique music and cross-over sounds that both add to the electronic music spectrum.
