This is from cassette called "Anotha Pound" all tracks from Chicago, French, NYC, Acid, Kraftwerk bleep bleep, all vinyl.  It's starts off with an interview that Charles "DJ chang" Corcho did with DJ Sneak for e.909st magazine.  A magazine that he (selektachang) did in 90s.  Mixed and coordinate by selekta chang.

EWF are thrilled to share this final conversation of Crossings, between Kurt Eckardt and daniel ward.

Kurt Eckardt works as Marketing and Events Manager at PBS in Naarm, and has recently worked in freelance music publicity, social media management and strategy, event booking and production, and as host of local music radio show Homebrew. Kurt also manages and performs in bands Hearts and Rockets and Astral Skulls, and runs DIY music and zine label and event collective, Psychic Hysteria. 

daniel ward is a poet and musician. they are the editor and founder of ‘no more poetry’, an independent publisher of poetry books and art magazines. their second and most recent collection is titled ‘eternal delight paralysis’. daniel is currently writing their third book titled ‘lavender poems’, a series of poems generated through automatic writing techniques guided by sensory explorations, meditation and mantra. their work often explores relationships between transgenderism and pantheism and is interested in the poem as both a problem and a prayer. they are a member of experimental sound collective ‘bodies of divine infinite and eternal spirit’ and are the drummer and sometimes guitarist for Wet Kiss. 

daniel and Kurt came together in October in Coburg North. They spoke about DIY culture, the local music & poetry scene, live performance & running their own label & publishing house. daniel & Kurt's thoughtfulness & enthusiasm towards the local arts scene was a perfect conversation to bring this season of Crossings to a close

In Visible Archives is a book that explores a number of feminist and cultural touchstones of the 1980s and examines how visual culture interacts with these pivotal moments. Author Margaret Galvan goes deep into the archives to bring together a decade’s worth of research that includes comics, collages, photographs, drawings, and other media produced by women including Nan Goldin, Alison Bechdel, Lee Marrs, and Gloria Anzaldúa. Galvan demonstrates how women represented their bodies and sexualities on their own terms and created visibility for new, diverse identities. Galvan is joined here in conversation with Anna Peppard and Ramzi Fawaz.


Margaret Galvan is assistant professor of English at the University of Florida and author of In Visible Archives: Queer and Feminist Visual Culture in the 1980s.

Anna Peppard is a writer, researcher, podcaster, and educator. Peppard is an adjunct lecturer in the department of Communication, Popular Culture, and Film at Brock University and editor of Supersex: Sexuality, Fantasy, and the Superhero.

Ramzi Fawaz is an award-winning queer cultural critic, public speaker, and educator. Fawaz is a Romnes Professor of English at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and author of Queer Forms and The New Mutants.

Rebecca Schumejda has worked hard over her time as a writer and editor to make poetry accessible to everyone, not just those in academia. She herself graduated with a BA in English and Creative Writing from SUNY New Paltz and a MA in Poetics and Creative Writing from San Francisco State University.

Rebecca is the author of the following full-length books: “Falling Forward” (sunnyoutside press), “Cadillac Men” (NYQ Books), “Waiting at the Dead End Diner” (Bottom Dog Press), “Our One-Way Street “(NYQ Books) and the following chapbooks: “The Tear Duct of the Storm” (Green Bean Press) “Dream Big, Work Harder”(sunnyoutside press), “The Map of Our Garden” (verve bath press), “From Seed to Sin” (Bottle of Smoke Press) and is the co-author of “Common Wages” with Don Winter (Working Stiff Press).

In her writing, she often tells the stories of the working class. She once took a job as a waitress for her book, “Waiting at the Dead End Diner”(Bottom Dog Press), and got inspiration from the people who walked in the door and sat at her tables.

In her book, “Cadillac Men,” Rebecca writes about the regulars who frequented the pool hall she and her late-husband opened in Kingston, NY. She read about one of those characters, Mikey Meatballs, at the Albany Poets Presents event Restaurant Navona in Albany on October 19, 2016.

I am trying to make people more aware of the power of music, especially the kind that makes you move. Maybe some can take that experience on the dancefloor to see that we can work together as a race, if we just drop our differing ideas for a moment to see what is really there. Music is one of the best ways to do this to the human mind.

Selekta Chang’s roots lie in his Cuban family being exposed at an early age to his parents collection of disco, soul, rock, salsa, and funk records. His first musical instrument was the drums where he performed percussion in a symphonic classical band while in Jr. High. This eventually led to his interest in djing while one day watching “The Buffalo Gals” music video on MTV. It was the scratching sound he heard that lead to his curiosity on what it meant to mix records. Around that time in Miami his cousin was a disco dj, and it was his music that motivated Chang even more to pursue the art of the mixtape.

What Chang is best known for though is his residency at Simons! There he played with djs like Laurent Garnier, Felix Da Housecat, Deep Dish, Green Velvet, Richie Hawtin, John Aquaviva, Rabbit In The Moon, Hardkiss, Carl Cox, Josh Wink, King Britt, SF Wicked, Kimball Collins, D-Xtreme, dj Three, Monk, Jask, Mark Farina, John Digweed, Danny Tenaglia, DJ Pierre, Dubtribe, Doc Martin and much, much, more.  

Never constituting to one sound expect elements of disco, soul, afro-funk, electro, breaks, house, techno, trance, hip hop, to indie rock in his sets. Expressing such diverse sounds that it excites & entices his fans with the unknown & unexpected.

His dj travels have surpassed the borders of the USA to Formula One in Bahrain, FM4 Radio in Vienna, Beach Party in Beirut, SQ Club & Piekarnia in Poland, Treasure Beach Jamaica, Download Festival in Slovakia, to the legendary Cocoon Club in Frankfurt, Germany. 

Charity is where his heart is like his involvement with Project Ahimsa, a charity that spreads musical instruments to underprivileged youth around the globe. He was 2011-2013's Mr. X for The Red Bull Music Academy in West Florida, and a co-founder of the Street Music Workshop at The Moses House in Sulphur Springs, Fl. from 2008 till 2010.
