Okay. So. I've realized that-- I write what I want to hear, right? Well, I'm usually so busy with that part that I can't even appreciate what little bits of genius are in there (yeah, I'm a cocksucker fuck you) until years later-- usually, it involves the percussion, talking in particular about Lasst Train Ride and Hippin' Hoppin'-- and then I look like a braggart, but hey, if it's WORTH bragging about fuck you.

Tunes by Tahu (Original Stuff)

Did a recreation of Out of the Woods, partly because I wanted to anyway, and partly because I wanted to recreate the 2nd PCM lead as a waveform in Serum. 
It'd be kind of pointless to just post a straight recreation of something so simple, though, so I made a couple different arrangements from that base file. This was the 2nd one I did. 

Feels good making something with Pac-Man 2 again, especially knowing that this will please someone out there who specifically asked to see more of this style a couple weeks ago on the Bear It cover I made with this sound set (https://soundcloud.com/tahutoa/totally-bear-pm2). That made my morning, guy. You know who you are.

Tops out at 7 voices, and that's accounting for the layering I did. The reason those kicks sound so good is because their treble frequencies are actually Hi-Hats set to the shortest possible length where they would still sound. This particular choice is a reference to how the percussion in the original was done in itself, as the "kicks" are an ultra-short mix of high & low end Noise.

Made a Crash cover of this back in like April or w/e when I made those SRB2 covers. Never actually posted it because I didn't like how it was shaping up well enough. But then yesterday I remembered it existed and went to change it into a Wario cover.

This melody isn't even true to the dream I heard it in, but I was so terrible at figuring out if I was harmonizing or actually getting it right that it ended up like this instead. The real one was in MAJOR for crying out loud

I actually composed something, holy shit! And it isn't too long-winded and samey like Gusty Woods before it! this is a huge deal for me :D I'm pretty proud atm, and I hope that doesn't change between now and later ' - '

I also made that character design. The shutters around the eye are exactly what they look like-- flexible shutters that follow dude's pupil, which as you can kinda tell is a concave shape. The pointy parts you see are gold and shiny. The rest is a shade of blue similar to the background, and has a texture akin to somebody's tongue.

A hypothetical microgame, in which the sounds speak for themselves. If you listen closely both inputs have a dedicated sound effect (in this case it's the UI window sfx).

The player assumes the role of some young girl, on her knees, chatting with a friend. They both are garbed in something similar to Lorraine Baines's main getup from BttF, the one with the bit of a puritan collar going on-- that little white collar on Creepy Suzie's garb, if that clears it up. You can't make out any of their clothes' colors, however, as the both of them are completely shrouded in darkness save for their eyes-- they are animated, but they're silhouettes.
    The light that makes their shapes known comes from a window, where outside a dog stands atop a hill (it would look something like that dog who catches the frisbee). There's a bustling cityscape behind and to the right of the hill.
    The dog's eventual howling noise (difficulties one & three) wakes up the guy sleeping in an armchair. On difficulties 1 & 2, the TV is casting light on him, so you can see when he wakes up (which helps the player to figure out what to do in time on their first run), but on difficulty 3 you can only hear him snoring and see the silhouette of the armchair. The dog also will change colors between difficulties, from white w/ a black spot on its back, to brown, to black. The dog doesn't appear for difficulty 2 (the version I made, as you can hear), and the guy wakes up all by himself.
    If you don't stop whispering in time, the signal that you failed is that the man will mirror that guy who gets a haircut, where he makes that "Hut!" sound of surprise (on difficulty 3, the man's silhouette is made known, so his expression can still be made out). The two girls' eyes will bug out as they focus on him, and pink blushes appear on their silhouettes.

Q: Why do I use the Wario Land 4 soundfont to some capacity for so many tracks?
A: Because I love the way it sounds, obviously. Half the reason why I'll start making a MIDI in the first place is that I want to hear what it'd sound like with the Wario Land 4 soundfont.
