台買加環繞音效成立於2004年，創始團員為3個熱愛dub的好朋友DJ @llenblow, dj_SHORTY與製作人DJ 650。一開始只是個推廣dub的單位，以西門町電影公園的為起點，到處放送我們熱愛的dub之聲，同時間也有在創作。從台買加環繞音效成立開始，就一直想要找團員做現場，最後終於在2007年底找齊了團員，分別為bass：DJ @llenblow(盪在空中)，DJ/samplin`/dub control：dj_SHORTY (Heartbeat Attack)，節奏吉他/製作人：DJ 650(Skaraoke)，主奏吉他：陳俊安(放客兄弟/濁水溪公社)，合成器：大胡，小號手：阿杜(Skaraoke)，saxophone：小阿凱(Skaraoke)與鼓手：阿鼓(前芭樂仔)，第一次的演出是在2008年初的吵年獸，可以說是一鳴驚人，隨後表演邀約不斷，同時也深受在台外國人的喜愛。

後來keyboard手斑斑加入，陣容多達9個人，隨後大胡於東海岸音樂節之後離團，9月小阿凱報效國家後離團，2009年1月1日在河岸留言的演出之後阿杜也離團，後來就以6個人的姿態繼續演出。2009年跳起來音樂節之後，阿鼓離團，台買加環繞音效進入冬眠期，陷入了找鼓手的地獄。最後終於找到了前芭樂籽/死蚊子的鼓手林昱安，於2010年11月開始練團，並創作新歌。等待了近2年，終於在2011年7月17日復出，在統一阪急百貨所舉辦的啤酒節首演。接著在9月華山大草原舉辦的丹尼的音樂節之後，節奏吉他手DJ 650離團，同時間超強keyboard手小歪(那我懂你意思了/Under The Moon)加入，並在2012年4月20日由無用兄弟會舉辦的420六週年獻上全新陣容的首演，與來自日本的Likkle Mai, Direct Impact以及R Tone共享舞台，從此之後，Formosa Jah Jah Soundz的故事將繼續傳頌下去。

Taimaica Soundsystem was formed in 2004 by 3 dub addicts-DJ @llenblow, dj_SHORTY and producer DJ 650. This unit was just to promote dub music in Taiwan in the beginning. Meanwhile, they were trying to make tunes, their goal was to form the first live dub band in Taiwan. In the end of 2007, they finally found members, comprised by DJ @llenblow (Hang In The Air) on bass, dj_SHORTY (Heartbeat Attack) on DJ/samplin`/dub control, DJ 650 (Skaraoke) on rhythm guitar, Angus (LTK Commune/Funky Brothers) on lead guitar, Dahu on synthesizer, Jaco (Skaraoke) on saxophone, A Du (Skaraoke) on trumpet and A Goo (ex-88 Balaz) on drums. Their first show was Freak Out Beast Festival at Shida Park, it was an amazing show that impressed all the participators. And then countless gigs was waiting for them. 

Keyboardist Ben Ben (ex-Freckles) joined the lineup in May, 2008, it was the period that got most members. After East Coast Music Festival, Dahu departed from the band. In September, Jaco left after joining the army. And then after the gig at Riverside on January 1st, 2009, A Du departed as well. They were keeping on playing shows with 6 members. After Jump Music Festival, A Goo left the band, Taimaica Soundsystem was forced to take a long break. In the end of 2010, Lin Yu An (ex-88 Balaz) joined the band, and they started making new songs. They finally played a show with new lineup @ The International Beer Festival at Uni-Hankyu Department Store. After Daniel Pearl Day of Music at Huashan Grassland, DJ 650 left the band, in the mean time, new keyboardist Xiao Yai joined the lineup, and played the first show at 420 6th Anniversary @ Pipe on 2012/4/20, shared the same stage with reggae acts from Japan-Likkle Mai, Direct Impact and R Tone. The story of Formosa Jah Jah Soundz continues.

簡介
Introduction

台買加環繞音效(Taimaica Soundsystem)是台灣第一個dub樂團。Dub是一種源自於70年代牙買加的"混音技術"，dub這個字就是重製的意思，簡單來說就是把別人的作品經過混音，成為不同的"版本"，並加入了延遲(delay)、迴音(echo)與混響(reverb)等效果，用在偏中高音頻的部分，這種音樂其實只要一個製作人就可以完成，但我們以樂團型式呈現並堅持原創，期許在與牙買加一樣的熱帶島國-台灣建立dub場域與推廣雷鬼音樂最根本的soundsystem文化，這也是我們團名的由來。

Dub在70年代的發展與牙買加特有的soundsystem文化有絕對的關係，50年代的牙買加獨立了，但接觸音樂的管道少的可憐，大部分來自美國電台，於是有人跑去美國帶回最流行的唱片，開車載著自己組裝的soundsystem，看到空地就停下來放送音樂，而街坊鄰居會聞音樂而來，熱鬧非凡，也正是作生意的好時刻，販售他們帶回的唱片，牙買加的音樂發展也就此慢慢發酵。Soundsystem可以說是孕育了reggae音樂的重要文化，牙買加人聽了美國靈魂樂，結合了熱帶島國音樂，也就此發展出牙買加特有音樂，從mento, ska, reggae, 到dub一路走來，一個貧窮國家的音樂發展卻影響全世界，尤其是dub，真是無法想像。Soundsystem除了有自己的組裝喇叭之外，deejay也是重要的一環，牙買加的DJ比較像hip hop的MC，負責講話帶動氣氛，旁邊會有selector負責挑唱片給DJ放，有時會選七吋黑膠B面的純音樂版本，配上toasting(一種半唸半唱風格)，並加上delay, echo與reverb等效果，也讓King Tubby有了靈感進而發明dub，由此得知soundsystem的重要。簡單來說，我們就是要建立第一套屬於台灣人的soundsystem，並推廣其背後的文化，更重要的是可以建立台灣特有的雷鬼音樂與場景。

King Tubby在70年代發明了dub，也告訴大家一個概念，音樂不一定要用創作的，混音也是一門藝術與技術。原本只是錄音技術，但在牙買加很快的就發展出特有的dub-reggae，比reggae(雷鬼)還要沉，加入了大量的delay、 echo與reverb等效果，用在人聲、吉他、 hi-hat、小鼓等中高音的部分，創造出"空間層次感"。Dub還有一個特色就是"重複的藝術”"，在原本不斷重複的架構之下(基本上drum跟bass是固定的)，以細微的編曲來呈現歌曲的層次感，在歌曲進行中，抽離或是加入樂器聲響，或是效果。基本上只要"一個人"靠著一台"console 混音器(mixer)"就可以完成。Dub在90年代傳入英國之後，拜科技所賜，越來越多人開始把玩這種音樂，當今歐洲各國已經發展出自己的dub場景，日本也有不錯的發展表現。受dub影響最大的音樂莫過於電子音樂與hip hop，電子音樂的編曲基本上就跟dub差不多，"混音版本"的概念也是源自於dub。雖然dub在世界上有很多不錯的場景，但多為製作人，以樂團編制的更是微乎其微，而台買加環繞音效更是台灣樂團第一，把玩的是dub最原始的面貌-純樂器，沒有人聲，歌曲多為原創，並加入了許多台灣小調的元素，創造出台灣特有的dub音樂，最近開始嘗試把一些有台灣味的台語歌曲改編成dub，更把原本錄音室的後製技術拿來作現場，期待台買加環繞音效可以搭建台灣第一套soundsystem。
