"The urge for inspiration led me to Berlin over five years ago. This melting pot of a city with all its amazing record stores, wonderful people and very special locations like old Griessmühle with its Wintergarten has forever shaken my view on the nightlife culture. 

Friends of mine had set up a venue in Charlottenburg in 2018, that became an important place in my life and that of many others, a self-made venue that was built with so much love and dedication. It quickly turned into a manifesto for creativity and community building in the nightlife scene that was second to none. You could be sure that you would broaden your musical horizons every time you visited this place.You immersed yourself in this parallel universe where you met so many like-minded people, discovered new things and where the weekend often didn’t end on Sunday. 

I myself played sets there countless times and even more back-to-backs with my dear friend Lorenzo, which gave me priceless experiences and inspiration.

The place is gone now, and even though many of those nights are blurry and the memories have faded, their abundance has played a major role in who I am as an artist. And they have motivated me to continue my search for the special and extraordinary in music and techno culture."

This is the 1st show of the new year on the RIOT Radio Show in 2024 and it's our annual 'Squigglier the Better' STRICTLY acid music only show in honour of RIOTeer #1 Paul Burke. This year Nomad's challenger for the 'Squigglier the Better' acid crown is Raconteur303 aka Martin McCue from Glasgowland. It was a close call last year when Nomad was up against the acidegg genius of Jimmy MacEgg aka EGEBAMYASI for which Nomad lost the crown in 2023. It was indeed a hard fought battle, but what do you expect? It was EGEBAM(FECKIN)YASI FFS. Anyone would fail to match that calibregg. But OMG has Nomad got a run for his money again in 2024's 1st show of the year. It's gonna be full blown all over the place SQUIGGLIN' AT YA ACID once more. Will Nomad win get his crown back? Wie kamst Du zum Auflegen?
Ich habe recht früh angefangen feiern zu gehen, wodurch das Interesse fürs Auflegen entstanden ist. Nachdem ich ein paar Jahre später die Gelegenheit hatte, den Controller von
einem guten Freund auszuprobieren, habe ich mir eigenes Equipment gekauft und während der Pandemie mit dem Auflegen angefangen.

Woher kommen deine Inspirationen?
Zuallererst durch Clubabende und Festivals. Wenn ich beim Feiern Sets und Tracks höre, die mir gefallen und die mich zum Tanzen animieren, kann ich daraus die größte Inspiration mitnehmen. Manchmal stoße ich aber auch durch Zufall auf neue Musik, die mich inspiriert. Wichtig ist mir dabei immer, dass die Musik etwas in mir auslöst.

Wo legst du am liebsten auf oder machst generell am liebsten Musik?
Generell fühle ich mich bei Outdoor locations meistens wohler als in geschlossenen Räumen.

Was würdest du an der Musikszene gern verändern, wenn du könntest?
Mehr FLINTA Personen hinter den Decks zu sehen. Da tut sich in Leipzig ja schon super viel, worüber ich sehr froh bin. In kleineren Städten sieht das aber leider nicht immer so aus.

Was wünschst du dir in Zukunft von deinem Publikum, der Clubkultur?
Ich wünsche mir sowohl vor als auch hinter den Decks mehr Achtsamkeit und Support. Gerade als FLINTA Person erlebe ich leider oftmals übergriffiges Verhalten wie z.B. ohne Absprache ins Pult zu greifen.
