One of my favorite track of that hero of african music! I added a breakbeat and boosted the bass line because i wanted to play this supa-groovy track in the clubs! I used to burn the dance floor when i played this remix at " IN FUNK WE TRUST ". Once i played at  "COMEDY CLUB" during a party and Manu Dibango was there. He came to me and  congratulated me when i told i was the one who made that remix . I precised him i had no intentions to release it without permissions, i remixed it just because i could not play it the way it was mixed originally. He said he loved cause it's funky. So enjoy it, and share it and don't be afraid to comment.

For those that don't know, here's a little insight on BOTY. The Battle Of The Year has come a long way. Who would have thought that BOTY would go from starting out in 1990 in a local youth culture center with 500 hard-core fans to an arena packed with more than 12,000 roaring spectators and b-boy crews from all over the world? BOTY has grown massively – and we have slowly realised our vision of developing the spirit of breakdance and creating an international event platform that allows B-Boys and B-Girls from all different countries to express their creativity in front of an ever-growing audience. BOTY 2012 was huge – and our aim is to keep it growing, evolving and pushing it to become the best Battle Of The Year we can possibly achieve, to once again prove that the event has earned its position as a pinnacle of the breaking and b-boying scene.

Before my next mix of newer material I wanted to make the first in a series of Classics mixes. These are the breaks that I remember being played all the time in the early 2000's. Some of them are straight up bboy anthems. Leacy, Dadeo, Geometrix and local radio DJ's had a big impact on what I play in this mix. To me, these sounds were everywhere and I wanted to bring that vibe back for the newer generation who might not know these breaks as well. Thank you to everyone who's supported me and believed in me. This is a nod to early 80’s hip hop cut n paste production,  a dirtier mix for the funk heads. Stephen Fleg aka DJ Fleg is a DJ, Bboy and producer from Maryland, U.S.A. His constant digging for new sounds in every genre allow Fleg’s style to incorporate old classics, new productions, jazz, funk, rock and soul all into one cohesive DJ stew. In addition to DJing, he also throws Baltimore’s most noted party, “4 Hours of Funk”. He has been organizing Baltimore’s most noted party, “4 Hours of Funk and throwing this for 4 years and has shared the stage with Dam Funk, Onra, Busy Bee, The Cold Crush Brothers, Grand Wizard Theodore, Teddy Douglas, and Kon.
