Rominimal - Chapter 1. introduces the first in a series of all vinyl mixtapes I plan to release in homage to the 'Romanian' sound, a truly mysterious and compelling sub-genre of techno that has held me captivated for some time now. Not strictly Romanian by any means, this selection pulls together tunes from various eastern european mecca's of the scene along with a few tracks from Berlin and NYC that are inline with the style. These tracks are what I consider to be 'diamonds in the rough', or tracks that display a kind of hybrid magic fusing elements of breaks, techno, minimal and micro house. This mix features tracks from some of my current favourite labels such as Untold Stories, All Inn (Nilla) Records, Neostrictly, Heisenberg, Pressure Traxx, Ada Kaleh and many more.
