this song was one of the earlier songs I made, probably around 2008 or 2009. I didn't understand sampling that well, so instead of sampling a short part I just took the entire song. Nujabes and Uyama Hiroto really liked this song. This is actually taken from Takagi Masakatsu's "Exit/Delete". The plan was to release this on 7inch vinyl through visioneternal, including the original song as well. I heard from Masakatsu's old label and they really wanted it to happen, but never got to hear back from Masakatsu.. so instead it's on this project. I hope you enjoy it, as it is an old one.

In reaction to the “Chill” Beats trend, “Quiet Elevation” title implies an inner and active experience of music listening.
“Quiet Elevation” reflects the artist’s interest for clothing, as a wordplay with Fashion’s recent styles (quiet luxury / casual elevation), characterized by understated elegance, refined simplicity, and high-quality materials. A list of qualities that could easily be applied to Lex’s music.
With several meanings, the title also refers to Lex’s discreet journey into music since 2011, always willing to elevate sampling music with a unique deep and meditative touch. The apparently quiet and mellow vibes are counterbalanced by Lex’ heavy drum patterns and constant search of new tempos.
Lex aka Alex Besikian is developping his visual art activities in parallel of his discography for nearly 15 years. Being part of several art shows and book fairs over the past 10 years and notably working for the Japanese brand Sillage. This album is his first one which combines his own drawings and music since 2015 !

出生於台灣台北。雜食系DJ、活動策劃人。

曾開設唱片行，及擔任老字號Live House「THE WALL」的營運總監，十多年來深度參與台北的獨立音樂圈。

做為演出企劃，策劃過包括 YOUR SONG IS GOOD、cero、思い出野郎Aチーム、VIDEOTAPEMUSIC、KID FRESINO、yogee new waves、never young beach、mono no aware 等樂團的首次台灣演出。

DJ 方面，持續以獨自的視角挖掘跨年代類型語言律動，定義屬於自己的 rare groove。曾多次參與台灣的浪人祭、秋out 等音樂節，並持續以嘉賓 DJ 身份，活躍於以東京為中心的各類大小俱樂部活動及「森、道、市場」「ringo 音樂祭」等日本音樂節。

Eclectic DJ and event organizer from Taipei.

From the owner of a record shop to the director of the live house “THE WALL”, Spykee has been deeply involved in the Taipei underground music scene for over ten years. 

After the pandemic, he returned to the DJ activities and frequently engaged with the DJ scene in Tokyo.  Also have participated in numerous festivals in Taiwan, such as the Vagabong Festival and ChillOut, as well as performances at the “MORI MICHI ICHIBA” in Aichi, “Ringo Music Festival” in Nagano, and guest appearances at various club events primarily in Tokyo, continuing his DJ activities in Japan.
