welcome to the first mix for take care, god its good to have you here.
  
as we make our way through this little life, it’s never been more important to check in on  yourself and the homies around us. for that very reason we wanted to create a digital destination, a-one-stop-shop of ambient soundscapes to help find stillness, cultivate growth and realign with what it means to be alive.

so this first mix is dedicated to being here, being human and being together.

What an honour it is to share this mix by Prianka aka Scalymoth, a Meanjin based dj, producer & homie. 
Pri is an amoeba who has the power to go in any direction, a beautiful soul whose love for what she does radiates through every note, beat & transition. 
This soft collection of dream-like notes Pri has put together is like an open arms hug from the one you love, a gentle pat on the back and a juicy smooch on the cheek. 
 
Here's a lil note from Prianka;
“For those of you who know me, I don't sit still very often or allow myself to get lost in softer sounds. This mix is an exploration of my softer side, and in parts you can hear where I've become impatient and where I tried to rein my impatience in. I really enjoyed making this mix, but it was difficult for me to get to the right mental state to sit down and lose myself for an hour. It’s a reminder to you and me to spend time just listening and feeling, instead of doing with an outcome in mind.
 
To pull myself back into a gentle state, I added the calls of 3 birds from Kerala, India - the Black Drongo, Great Hornbill and Indian Peafowl. My dad instilled a healthy appreciation of wildlife and I'm glad I got to share that a little.”
 
We've contacted your local GP and they've prescribed this mix, a comfortable place to lay and maybe a nice tea, if you like tea of course. 
So please take some time and a few deep breaths. Let yourself get lost in thought but then bring yourself back to the bird calls. Make note of how you’re feeling, allow yourself to feel it and remember to be kind to yourself.

NYC’s Despina brings their signature metallic palette to the 909 mix series. Someone we’ve had our eye on for a while now through their releases on Kindergarten and All Centre, Despina is quickly becoming known for their thrilling take on club music. I think RA described their All Centre release as ‘unhinged’ and it feels like an appropriate word to describe this session. It’s robotic, sometimes spiralling out of control before commanding back into action with high energy rollers and percussive-driven rhythms. It has left me very very eager to see them play in a club setting. This itch needs to be scratched asap!
