Following the first two ‘Mood Elevation’ remix packages, which featured Will Clarke, Marcal, Chris Liebing, and ANNĒ, Nicole Moudaber now enlists Paco Osuna and Latmun, two of house music’s most recognisable names, for an outstanding pair of remixes for the third release in the series.
Leading the EP, Mindshake Records boss Paco Osuna delivers a heaving remix, drawing on swirling pads, punchy drums, and cavernous low end for an epic reinterpretation. Latmun draws for sharp FX, grooving percussion, and slick acid lines on his remix, combining them over irresistible low end to create a deeply danceable track.
Nicole Moudaber, the founder of label, party, and radio show MOOD, has been at the forefront of house and techno for over a decade, regularly appearing at esteemed festivals and venues such as Glastonbury, Coachella, DC-10, and Space Ibiza. Her iconic In The Mood events, with recent editions in Miami, New York, Los Angeles, and EDC Festival, have featured legendary artists such as Carl Craig, Chris Liebing, Loco Dice, and many more over the years. Her MOOD imprint consistently releases music from some of the scene’s top producers, including Carl Cox, Pig&Dan, Yulia Niko, Moby, Klaudia Gawlas, Eats Everything, and of course herself.

Solid Grooves reveals the fourth instalment of its 'Raw Grooves' series as Carloh, CHKLTE and Shokë return alongside a wealth of new names including Francis De Simone and Inavo.

Launched as a home for impactful club-focused productions, Solid Grooves' sister imprint Solid Grooves Raw has released some of the collective's biggest go-to anthems of late, with artists such as Josh Butler, Ramin Rezaie, Beltran, JUST2 and Antss dropping heat on the label.

Usually an annual fixture in the calendar, 2022 becomes the first year to see two VA offerings on the imprint as the UK favourites return with the fourth volume of 'Raw Grooves', locked and loaded with both returning and fresh talent. Stepping things up again, the fourth in the series sees returning trio Carloh, CHKLTE, and Shokë drop fresh material while unveiling impressive label debuts from emerging names in Elijah Wolfe, Francis De Simone, Inavo, Kidoo, Havoc & Lawn and Dot N Life.

Peggy Gou’s Gudu label today launches a new annual Various Artists compilation series with Gudu & Friends Vol. 1.

Launched in 2019, Gudu opened with one of Peggy Gou’s most successful records to date, ‘Starry Night’, and has released several hit singles from Peggy since (‘I Go’, ‘Nabi’). However, Peggy’s music is only half the story with Gudu.

Since its formation, Gudu has housed music from a truly global roster of artists, including the UK’s DMX Krew and JRMS, Italy’s Hiver and Dukwa, South Korea’s Mogwaa, Indonesia’s Dea, Ukraine’s Brain de Palma, South Africa’s Riff and the USA’s Maurice Fulton. It has also hosted label showcases across Europe, and hosts its own stage at Peggy’s annual Pleasure Gardens festival.

On Gudu & Friends Vol. 1, the label presents an eight-track compilation of new music from established Gudu label artists and new faces to the label. DMX Krew, Mogwaa, Hiver, Dukwa and Brain de Palma all represent for the existing label roster, while two of South Korea’s most exciting talents Closet Yi and Salamanda contribute two very different tracks: the ravey, breaks-driven ‘Sonder’ and the wide-eyed, mallet-led ‘Mockingbird’. Finally, the First Lady of Beatdown, Lady Blacktronika, comes through with the hypnotic groove of ‘He Can Never Love You’ - a classic LB cut that gets warpy and freaky as only she can.

Each Gudu & Friends compilation will have artwork tied into the Lunar New Year. For Gudu & Friends Vol. 1, the art comes from illustrator Jin Young Choi (who also illustrates the Gudu Mix series) and reflects the Year of the Rabbit.

The next Take Notes chapter is entrusted to the Spaniard man of the moment, Rendher. It's impossible not to have danced to one of his numerous hits during the last couple of years, as he has released on labels like Solid Grooves, Tamango, ElRow, and Revival NYC, and his debut 'Decent Groove' EP will be no exception.

The lead track provides the usual granular Rendher's flavour, with punchy kicks, bubbling bass tones and crisp, rolling percussions. Next up, 'Pressssure' offers an irresistible murky and groovy bassline, warped vocals, and easy-to-dance drum patterns between mainroom affairs and more intimate, cosy rooms.

Hotly tipped Brit producer/DJ, Ben Sterling, returns to Eats Everything’s Edible imprint with a brace of funky belters for your ears!  Following up the epic ‘Dance Machine’ from earlier this year, Sterling continues to dispatch slick and modern dance floor tuneage for midnight ravers and sunrise dancers.

A coy acid line gurgles throughout ‘Danger’, but the track’s focus is firmly on the precision mechanical house beats and robotic vocal, its infectious swinging groove proving very infectious.  ‘Mind Control’ pursues a similar path, with Sterling again serving up a mischievous slice of wicked techy house business, flowing with funk and good vibes!

Ben Sterling has been casually dropping bombs for labels like Hot Creations, Repopulate Mars and Edible over the course of the last three years, and his production talents show no sign of letting up yet anytime soon.
