Felix E. James, better known by his stage name F.E.J, is an award-winning Liberian recording artist, performer, producer, and composer. F.E.J. was born to Albertha Lewis-James and Joshua Antonio James on May 8, 1988, in Monrovia, Liberia. F.E.J had mastered the bass guitar, piano, and drums by the age of 13. He was also an active member of the choir at his local church.

As a result of the Liberian civil war, he, his mother, and his siblings fled their home country for the United States as part of a resettlement program, where they later reunited with his father. Living in the United States presented a lot of opportunities to further his musical talents. In middle and high school, he was a member of the jazz band, concert band, and marching band.

In early 2003, he released his first Christian rap demo, "Deliveryman," for which, together with his friends, copies were sold out of his car trunk at local youth groups. In 2007, his second studio Christian rap album, "Urban Reality," brought him even more fame. With a hit single, "I Won't Stop," on rotation on BET's Lift Every Voice.

In 2009, F.E.J released his third studio album, "Face of Africa. The album included two Number 1 singles “African Girl” and “Turn Me On” on the radio in Liberia. His fourth studio album, “Face of Africa II”, in 2012 brought him even more success with hit singles like “Loving It”, “'Sowayah”, and more.

His career includes major nominations and awards from the Liberian Entertainment Awards and more.

I am a singer/songwriter from Manchester (UK). I play a collection of my own work, the styles I choose to mix are folk-soul-indie-pop. The world is the best influence and lyrical content can come from anywhere. Technology, weather and love can all be songs.

Efinxace (Fidel Bashir Hamoud, born March 27, 1986) erupted from the midst of multiple cultures as a native Liberian gentleman of Lebanese descent. Efinxace’s work brings to light the journey of migration through the sound in his music which reflects upon his distinctiveness and story. Efinxace moved to the US in 2014 with nothing but a bag and big dreams of making it in this ever-evolving music industry…that is how his voyage truly began. Nothing can stop him now. No. Not this man. Not this artist.
The common introduction to a musician usually begins with an inflated explanation of how they got to where they are today. It can be padded with trials and struggles that create sympathy instead of a true connection between their life and lyrics. That is not what you feel when you groove to the heartbeat found in his vocals. The confidence alleviates the complications. The despair in abandonment dissolves when you hear the confidence in how he has refined his craft. The depression and sleepless nights that he conquered because he chose to pursue music to turn his dreams into a reality, shows his true passion and perseverance.

This captivating artist emerged in the music industry with his career as a rapper and songwriter for R&B the outfit, Suave, which was remarkably successful after winning the hearts and ears of over 500,000 fans. Efinxace launched his solo career in 2009. He stepped into the limelight with his debut single "Dj Play My Song" in 2010. The single made its presence in popular club playlists and radio charts across the world. Its popularity opened doors to countless opportunities and publishing deals that made companies thirsty for Efinxace's talent. New singles soon followed exposing his spellbinding talent as a songwriter. Efinxace writes music that exposes his experience about personal, heartfelt situations with a particular focus on his life and relationships.
His attitude as a singer is a great reflection of the times in which we currently live. We are part of a world whose cultural landscape cannot be divided into small, individualized groups. We travel, we exchange ideas, opinions, hopes, and dreams. This is the same concept that is reflected in his music. In a recent interview, when asked, “If you were to put the music that you are blessing us within a category during this time of change. Where does it fit in?” His response was…
“I consider my music to be a mixture of healing, eye-opening, giving solitude, and overall just sending out good vibes. I have dedicated a great amount of time and energy to this project, Diaries of the Heart. It will go down as my debut, solo album. I have released numerous singles throughout my musical career, but this will be my first album and one hell of an album. My goal is to make people connect to my energy through my music while sending out nothing but good vibes.” ~ Efinxace

The Hip Co Accountability Network (in partnership with Accountability Lab) consists of 12 Liberian musicians, DJs, radio personalities, and producers who make, play, and talk about music that addresses real issues in Liberia and gives a voice to the people while also working together to create an infrastructure in their music industry that includes things like copyright protections and minimum play laws. The Ambassadors are Takun J, Nasseman, JD Donzo, Shining Man, Lil Bishop, JB Soulfresh, Dr. C, Santos, Blackest 305, Uncle Shaq, Picardor, and Pochano.

Jonathan Koffa is better known to his fans as Takun J, the Hip Co King.

Takun J was born on May 14 in Monrovia, Liberia, where he survived the country’s 14 year civil war with his single mother and 3 siblings. Even during those hard times, it was clear that Takun had an entertainer’s spirit. He grew up playing soccer, dancing, and entering talent shows. He performed whenever he had a chance. By the time he graduated from high school, he had fully committed himself to music. In 2005, he released his first single, “We’ll Spay You” followed the next year by “You Meaning Me”.

The success of those songs was cut short as the war flared up and a resettlement program took Takun to refugee camps in Ghana, and later, Ivory Coast, where he washed clothes and cleaned houses for people in exchange for food.

When the opportunity arose, he returned to Liberia to rebuild his country. He sees music, and especially Hip Co- the unique Liberian language of the streets and markets- as integral to this. In 2007, he released The Time, his first full length album. The song “Police Man”, which spoke honestly about police corruption, was an instant hit with fans but resulted in two arrests and a brutal beating by Liberian National Police. Takun refused to be silenced: the night of his release, he performed with his eye still black and his shirt still blood-stained.

Since then, Takun has committed himself to writing songs that speak truth, promote unity, and resonate with people’s everyday experiences. He has worked with international organizations, including Action on Armed Violence and UNICEF and is serving as a gender based violence reduction ambassador for Media Impact.  Both his work and his music have been recognized internationally, with features on BBC, Al Jazeera, OkayAfrica, AFP, and more. 

In December 2012, he launched his new album, My Way, and held the world's first hip co festival, opening to crowds of 17,000 people over 2 days.
