to start the summer right I decided to share an unreleased track from my liveset with you. This is an Edit of rhythms by the "Malinke Tribe". The sample is taken from a gorgeous documentary by Thomas Roebers & Floris Leeuwenberg you can watch it on YouTube. Foli is the Malinke word for rhythm.
I hope that the tracks brings you joy and maybe you get to learn something about a wonderful culture as well :)

Malinke Tribe - Foli (Iorie Edit)

Raised on the thundering low-end of south Florida's club music heyday, New Orleans-based 
DJ/producer Redance knows how to move bodies. His ear for percussion and discerning use 
of vocal samples has landed him on Nervous, Major, and Get Up Recordings and now Chinotto 
Records is excited for his debut as the second entry in their Tarocco Singles Club. These two 
tracks show off Redance's more soulful side, pairing his distinctive beats with beguiling synth 
melodies, alluring vocals, and a more demure but still driving bass. A nod to the old school of 
Ron Trent and Prescription but very much from now, both tracks will light up floors. Available 
digitally or as a bright yellow 7-inch record with neon green marbling (only 100 copies).

After Yuu Udagawa’s highly acclaimed EPs “Ride It” & “Peaceful Dawn” from last year, she’s back again in full effect presenting four classy, sophisticated and timeless jazz-electronica-house hybrid tracks for Compost.

The title track Golden Glow is a electric samba-infused broken beat gem, with joyful vocal melodies and a superfunky bassline creating a truly elevated vibe.

Reverie comes in smooth slow-motion house guise. Yuu's ethereal vocal interludes unfold in interplay with playful piano improvisations, underpinned by an irresistible groove.

The track “One More” seems to come straight out of a smoky jazz club. Jazzy piano sounds meet plucked double bass, underlaid with dreamy synth pads and Yuu's whispers from the twilight zone.

On Velvet City, Yuu unleashes her soulful vocal talent and her flair for wonderfully ambitiously produced deep house. A great, uplifting jam that appeals to both the heart and the dancing leg.

The original is one of this wonderful tunes that lives between minimal and deep house which inspired me a lot.
