Aim: Stars On 33 (2002)

My entry to the LUSINE ft Jenn Champion - NOT ALONE remix competition on www.metapop.com.  It's a nice bit of liquid Drum & Bass, using about half the provided stems, and bringing my own Bassline and drummage to the party... lots more was done, but I won't go into details.... ok I will.

As soon as I saw the tempo and key would work with my fave genre Drum & Bass, I got on it! Out of the provided stems, I used the Vocals (mostly untouched), Turned the Celeste into a pad. Double layered the Rhodes, made one 7st higher, and used Triggergate to rhythmically chop them, both differently. Vocoded both Synth parts differently, played with width between them. I used a sound I'd created a while back with the free Synth Helm for the bassline, with a little automated Erosion for fun. Chopped up a bongos loop, wrote several wild shaker parts, but went traditional in the end. The main Drums are all me, kept very basic. Finally added some Slap, a Vibraslap sample, sometimes overly stretched, and backwards once or twice. It slaps back.
