About a month ago I bought myself a new mixer. This upload is just to show off what the new mixing console (Soundcraft Ghost) does to a track that's being run through it with a bit added tweaking on the EQ.

Tech Talk notes:

+ The track was sent out to the mixer using one stereo- and one mono bus.
+ Applied EQ on all three channels on the Ghost console, and downmixed them back to Logic. (Mono bus channel used to rebalance the super wide stereo image back to a less insane stereo field).
+ Applied a gentle limiter and rendered the file.

Thats what makes them succesful in the net. I was much more fascinated by the melody. And i thought a little tallatizing would created something special. Instead of using uplifting, which would have made it to cheesy, i used dark psyish elements. Listen to yourself and leave a comment if you like it.

My first vocal tune of the year 2020. The story about the vocals: I found it on an old sample cd i´ve bought. I like the vox so much that i´ve used for my new song. The first track "Shutdown" with its progressive and retro edge, has the lonely feel and sound of driving through the empty streets that have been the case in so many areas of the world. The second track "Invisible Fear" has a hypnotic sound of a spreading virus, creating fear for the unknown.
