Next up on Kaluki this summer, we are welcoming another label newcomer, this time in the form of Ecuadorian DJ and producer, Jose Apolo, who makes his debut on the imprint with his brand new, Enamorado EP. Since kickstarting his DJ career in 2020 with his first release on Detlefs Issues label, Jose has gone on to draw support from the Tech House community with his tracks being supported by a number of respected DJs within the scene. The dancefloor focused Enamorado EP entices listeners with its percolating rhythms, rise and fall acid inspired basslines, trippy synths, hip swinging claps and cleverly chopped vocals throughout. Label's favourite Ben Murphy (Solid Grooves, Bamboleo) returns to the home base after more than a year since his contribution on Yaya's 'You Decide LP (The Remixes)' and two appearances on the 'Tamango Shots' compilations. 

The London-based artist unleashes two dancefloor-killer originals as part of his debut EP called 'Do Me', offering speedy grooves, chunky basslines, and a pinch of garage vibes in keeping with his signature sound. The main track delivers punchy kicks, fast-skipping drums and jackin' vocal chops, whereas on 'Robotic Speech Disorder', things get trippy and spicy, driven by intriguing vocals and infectious sounds throughout - proper B-side stuff.

Tamango Records is the imprint of Italian acclaimed DJ and producer Yaya. The name is inspired by the myth of Tamango, who - according to the legend - was the first African slave to fight for his freedom, perfectly fitting with the no-boundaries style of the label. Born in Berlin in 2016 and captained by Yaya himself, the label’s aim is to spread its rainbow vibes from the soul between unusual and curious records, parties, and adventures.
