“After my last album “Tiny Injuries” was released in 2023, I could feel myself slowly emerging from the dark cave of grief. Some days I would feel more positive and excited about things,  but then other days I would take ten steps back and be right back there. I desperately want to change, to feel okay, and there is also a side of me that wants to hold onto the sadness. Sometimes holding onto the sadness of loss is the only thing that keeps that person around,  and I struggle with the fear of forgetting them. All the songs on "Good Times for a Change" feel like meditations on being somewhere in between the willingness to let go, and the desire to hold on... a time capsule of the internal dialogue I have with myself everyday.”

and kites swirl like ribbons in the sky,
just like my spirit does today

Let's take a holiday!

At Surf & Stillwell down the boardwalk,
we'll eat a Famous Nathan's hotdog,
play a game of volleyball,
ride in a bumper car and stay late,
and watch the fireworks display

We'll stroll down Riegelmann Boardwalk,
and take the rides at Luna Park,
eat candy apples and popcorn,
Totonno's pizza coal fired
on a mid summer day

We'll take a little holiday,
west of Ocean Parkway
Feel our troubles fade away
in Brooklyn's little hideaway

Many thousands of years ago, our ancestors lived here on our little globe. Did they have any idea of the future..... and if so what was "future" for them? "Tomorrow, next week, or next year?" Did they even have a word for future? Or was life exclusively about develop and expand the group and getting food for the day? Or did they, too, have other goals and meaning with their lives?
