Also making his Astral Records debut and providing the second and final interpretation of 'Yule' is Aree. Italian artist Francesco Aree aka Aree first emerged in 2016 with a pair of releases via Three Hands Records. The Naples resident has spent the better part of a decade perfecting his craft, eventually leading to projects via Infinite Depth, Ethereal Community Records and Wood Records, while world class DJs Adriatique, Adana Twins, Fideles, Maceo Plex and Tale Of Us have all been supporters along the way. Continuing on an upwards trajectory, Aree now makes his Astral Records debut with a powerful rendition of 'Yule'. Drawing on the sensibilities of the original, the duo rework the foundation with broken beats and shuffling percussion bringing a contemporary state of mind. Resonating perfectly against the breakbeat backbone are the serene vocal phrases, striking at opportune moments, while devilish effects and bleepy sonics provide additional colour onwards to a balmy break and slow burning finale. A heady interpretation from Aree to cap off an excellent release for Astral Records, one where Abime, Main Leaf and Aree all make impressive label debuts.

Fully formed within the confines of his Montreal studio, the February release would find Elias continuing his exploitative path into melodic house & techno, with a definitive lean into the darker and more peaktime oriented aspects of the genre. Favoured by a cross-section of DJs from Mind Against to Markus Schulz and John OO Fleming, the two-track showcase would set the course for what promises to be another standout year for the Canadian. With the project's introductory single 'Stimulate' landing in April, Phenomena now unveils the full 'All Equal' EP, alongside a remix from label debutant Tyler W. The title selection 'All Equal' finds Elias showcasing a deeper side of his repertoire. For this new instalment Alpha Black arrives with a reinterpretation of Aree's "Origins" EP by the newly arrived Alpha members Altman, U S H N U and aacht.

Having garnered support from the top dogs, being played by the likes of Maceo Plex and Fideles, or collaborating with Hunter Game, Altman gives us a new look at 'Ten Steps' with a hard-hitting low end, and absorbing atmospheres. An ever-evolving track, that becomes more aggressive. Truly showing the wolf's teeth.

Next is U S H N U 's remix of 'Origins'. An ongoing bumping bass as a vibe setter, with a strong lead, and soft intricate sounds that keep the track moving. This Argentinian wolf knows how to do things right, but its nothing new, as seen by the support from Tale Of Us, Fideles, Øostil and many more.

Finally, Alpha Black has aacht's beautiful remix of 'Ten Step'. An ongoing wide atmosphere, soft to the heart, with an elegant melody that entangles your thoughts at the moment, filled with coming and leaving bass stabs and melodic arps, and sweet high hats. There is no doubting Mind Against's judgement when selecting his tracks
