“National Genagraphic” is a heartfelt homage to Gena, a friend and photographer whose work and spirit inspire the track. The beat is calm and soothing, unfolding with the easy flow of a sonic safari—unhurried, exploratory, and full of texture. At the same time, it carries a poppy brightness, weaving in a reggae-inspired sound that feels uplifting and approachable. There’s a balance here between playful rhythm and genuine warmth, making it as memorable as its muse. A popular favorite, “National Genagraphic” celebrates creativity and connection with an infectious groove.

Brillman x Tape Lab back at it again, this time with some small changes, just a few minor edits, nothing big, just a — microTWEAK. Building on an initial and explosive creative clash, Tape Lab & Brillman have delivered another melodic, composed and unexpected release.

Transferred at the speed of light (115bpm) across the Atlantic Ocean. Initial melodies were recorded via the Yamaha RM1X with space/reverb added from the Korg Kaos DJ Pad. Basslines were recorded on the Moog Sub37. Brillman remixed with additional drums/synths/sounds including the brilliant microFREAK. But, ultimately, the star of the show is Brillman’s expertly composed and eclectic sonic palette and, definitely, skills as a mixer and master-er.

Fearlessly, new sounds echo in and out, ricocheting off of other beats and bloops, a confetti of sounds raining down.

There's a Tape in my Heart and it's always beating. What does that even mean? Who even cares? Not me because my heart pumps magnetic spools of tape. My organs are gears. Okay, so you get it. Working with some funky vocodor on the R3, and all the beats are made on the Kaossilator, which is a throwback to the old Tape Lab days.
