When I was making this remix I had a bit of trouble with the acapella, but now coming back to just the beat I'm actually really happy with how it sounds, got a nice full weight to it especially the drums and the bass in the sample. Can defo see this one being good to freestyle to, simple but effective in the vibe.

Layered up the sample quite a lot to give the beat that fat sound, got a laid back jazzy kind of feel whilst still fitting the rugged East Coast vibe. I took clips from Style Wars and Wild Style, in my opinion two of the best films that document hip hop culture in the 80s. I thought it fit well with this beat cause again it has that really old school vibe, and thought the visuals complimented the beat pretty well.

Such crazy verses from DMX, he really poured his heart out on this track in a real way. I was originally tryna remix 'Slow Down' by Brand Nubian over this beat, but couldn't get a good enough sounding acapella for it to work. I decided to keep the hook though cause I thought it fit well with the DMX vocals and overall sound of the track. Hope people enjoy this one, I feel like it's a bit out there but the beat and the acapella went well to me in terms of rhythm and emotion, which are defo two of the most important things for me when it comes to making remixes.

Who We Be(Slow Down)

Thought the title fit well here, the flow of the beat fit well with the flow of the acapella imo. Always loved this track since I heard it dropped on a Stretch & Bobbito show, such a cool feature from Jeru on the record, his intros and outros to the track have a real dope vibe it's hard to pin point why but they just give the track a lot more flavour to me. Hope people like the vibe of this remix, very different to the original: I also left out the first verse cause that has a bit more of serious vibe which I didn't think fit the carefree style of this beat. Peaaaceee
