Dedicated to my brother on his 21st birthday. Thank you for really putting me onto 50 as an artist, would never have made these remixes otherwise and they genuinely are some of my favourite tracks I've ever made. To me this feels like the best body of beats I've ever made, they all feel like they're in the same world and I've always wanted to make an album which has that cohesive feel to it. One of my favourite tracks from Operation Doomsday: the scratches really make it for me and of course DOOM is on point lyrically. Love the philosophy behind the track too, really hits hard. Had to bring the emotional vibe with this remix, love pairing DOOM with these kind of beats.

Friday's album is a collection of tracks which I wanted to have on last years DOOMSDAY album: but they didn't end up making it. They aren't throwaway tracks at all, the first half of the Roughs & Rares is actually how I originally envisioned the album starting and progressing: so there's a few remixes and blends that I've never released before. Originally I was going for a much shorter project: 20 minutes max: so from the first track of this up until the Questions remix is what I was originally thinking. I ultimately went in a different direction for the final album and made it way longer etc, so I shelved the ideas I originally had for a shorter tape. Thought it would make sense to release it as a mini album this year, otherwise I don't think I'd ever release them to the world. Thank you in advance for checking it: Peace.

DOOMSDAY TRIBUTE REMIXES (Roughs & Rares)

Both KMDs albums are crazy: so interesting to listen to to hear DOOMs early stages as an artist, and the albums are dope in their own right. There's so many lines and moments which are like little snippets of what was to come: like in this track where DOOM (as Zev Love X) calls himself a maniacal villain. Personally I prefer their second album: really dark and grimey with so many tracks that I'd love to remix in the future. Contact Blitt has to be one of my favourites for sure, such a rugged vibe. I love their approach being a lot more focused on the pitfalls of society in that album too: really takes it on in a matter of fact kind of way, no sugar coating. Mr Hood is dope too of course: almost like a complete opposite in terms of style and attitude. If you rate DOOM and haven't looked into KMD I highly recommend it, and if you're already a fan, defo let me know which vibe you prefer in terms of their first and second album, would be interested to hear other opinions and discuss that in the comments.
