Knew I had to put a serious acapella over this beat, never expected to remix this one though. This track is just different, I've been listening to it for a long time now, and over the years I began to understand more and more what the lyrics are actually about. I remember when I really started deeping it as I started going through adulthood and every time I listened to this track my mind would get blown. Really is eye opening stuff, I actually wrote a whole essay about this song for one of my modules when I was at university. Best mark I ever got on a piece of academic work too. 

I honestly don't even know where to start on this track, just thankful that it exists really. To this day everytime I listen to it I've got to give the lyrics my full attention. What it talks about is just beyond important and seems to still be crazily overlooked to this day it's a real shame. For me especially the focus on how we should be compassionate rather than being polite is so so true and such a powerful thing to think on. Just one of many many things that this track brings up of course - would be dope to hear anything that stands out to you about this one. Such a blessing to be able to remix it, I think this beat has done it justice fingers crossed. Was cool the way Talib's verse gets things going over the first beat, and then for Mos Def's verse the beat switches to the more emotional flip. Just overall very happy with the structure of this one I think it worked out really well.

Huge shoutout to @user-283060156 on this one, shot the cover art and the music video. That video is one of my favourite things I've done as Tapehead, feels so crazy to have an official video out and it just matched the vibe of the song so well. 

Really just went for it on this one, soon as I made this beat I knew I wanted to write mad lyrics over it, and then when I decided to properly go ahead with the album this was one of the first tracks I put together. Gassed to have added scratching over it too, always wanted to do that on a track and this one had that vibe for sure. This is also defo one of my favourite tracks I've done in terms of the vocals, really happy with the way they sound over the beat especially at the end, feel like the tone is on point and they mesh together mad well.
