Had a bit of trouble at first when I was flipping this sample, wasn't happy with the overall sound. Ended up pitching it down by -2 to give the low end a bit more presence, and added a layer of just bass too to really get it to hit a bit harder. This is one of those ones where I was glad to leave it for a bit and then come back with fresh ears to make those changes. Hope people enjoy the beat! Thank you for listening

Almost remixed New Scapes with this beat, but I felt like the vibe was a bit too upbeat for the lyrical content. Layered up the sample quite a bit to get the bass hitting better, was pretty happy with the overall vibe of this one.

This was a pretty fun beat to remix, loads of acapellas were sounding nice over it so it actually became a bit difficult tryna work out which one would be the best fit. I had T-Max - Relax Your Mind, Masta Ace - Ain't U Da Masta, AZ - Never Change, and this acapella all blended over the beat in separate tracks. I went for this one in the end because the flow from Paula Perry fit the different parts of the beat well - and the overall party vibe of the acapella fit best with the vibe of this beat. There's some rugged parts to the beat too which fit the focus on keeping it real well, but the more carefree sounding chops that I layered fit the laid back feel of this acapella too I thought.

Highly recommend the original track by Paula Perry, one of my favourite singles from the 90s, the beat is crazy fat especially on the bass, produced by Masta Ace too which is crazy cause it's defo one of the most iconic 90s underground beats.
