I made these beats in February 2018. I was very deep into production having been sober since December 2017, and even though it sounds cliche, I was 'high on life', and had never felt more dedicated to making music. It wasn't easy staying sober at first especially seeing as my housemates still got waved, especially in the evening when I would normally have smoked into the early hours. I knew I wanted to stay sober because of how much happier I was, but it helped to distract myself from the vices that were around me, so each evening I was watching all the films that I used to enjoy watching before I started smoking and pushed that past-time aside in favour of getting high.

I remember I had re watched 'Creepshow' which I had seen when I was younger, but I had never seen the sequel 'Creepshow 2', which I had heard was worse, but I was watching films on a daily basis so I didn't really care about quality, I saw them more as a distraction to escape from the temptation of getting waved with housemates etc. Anyway as soon as the films intro animation started I heard the theme that I flipped for the first beat on this mix; at the time I was shocked and knew I had to make a beat out of it, and then the bassey synth that I used on the 2nd beat came in straight after. I was crazily inspired to make beats out of the intro, but I decided to watch the film incase their were any other crazy moments sampling wise. 

That night after the watching the film I made 5 beats out of the soundtrack album which I found on youtube, mainly focusing on the intro theme but also flipping a couple of other themes from the soundtrack. Each beat was fairly easy to make and the whole process was pretty natural and effortless, I didn't have to force anything and it all came into place, even though a few of the beats were way less developed than others. 

Over the next few days I was putting acapellas over the beats I had made, and I kept finding myself using MF DOOM acapellas, as he just sounded right over the horror movie vibe of the samples and his lyrics matched the style of the beats well. Creepshow is actually a movie about comic book stories, so it does go hand-in-hand with DOOM really. 

For this upload I chose my 2 favourite loops from the Creepshow 2 soundtrack, and layered new drums over each loop to improve the overall final product. I originally had the Meat Grinder acapella over the first beat, and Vomitspit over the second, but here I decided to use DOOM's verse on Change The Beat as Viktor Vaughn, because I felt it fit this 2 beat track better.
