Manchester-based Producer Pitch 92 graces us with a fresh take on “Submerge”, his recent collaborative album with Jerome Thomas, presenting a reimagined selection of its instrumentals. “Submerge (Beat Edit)” is the new single.

With production embodying golden age swing and soul despite his youth, Pitch 92 is etching his own path into the modern hip hop landscape. Born in Dublin in 1992, Pitch grew up in Germany and Switzerland where the sounds of Madlib and Dilla fired his neurons and heart. Surrounded by creativity in the guise of close friends ASM (A State Of Mind), the crew got him to pick up his first MPC at age 12, graduating from the SP 303 sampler he was already familiar with.

Pitch moved to the UK in 2008 and quickly embedded himself into the Manchester hip hop scene. He met The Mouse Outfit and began playing MPC live along with the band – before long, he was a core element in the studio, his jazzy boom bap the nucleus of the first two Mouse Outfit albums, Escape Music (2013) and Step Steadier (2015).

Producing and touring Europe with the Mice for seven years, Pitch departed in 2017 to pursue a solo career. He has since released with renowned labels High Focus and First Word Records.

Man I know aspects of this diss haven't aged that well, but imo this is still one of the best diss tracks ever, wayyy better than Takeover - Nas was out for blood on this one. Defo evidence for him being one of if not the greatest to ever do it. You can just feel the passion in this track he must have been so pissed writing these lyrics you can tell he just kept on going mad inspired to tear Jay apart. 

Had fun remixing this the beat had that grand vibe which i thought fit the scale and magnitude of this track well if that makes sense. A lot faster than the OG too which ups the energy of Nas's relentless approach on the lyrics.
