For this remix, I chopped a funky sample, built a groove around it, and laid down some heavy drums. As soon as the beat started to take shape, I knew it needed voices from the golden era. That’s when I brought in Nas & Prodigy’s acapella from Self Conscious.

These two are legends. Prodigy—whether solo or with Mobb Deep—has always been a source of raw energy and motivation for me. I still remember blasting their tracks back in my school days, feeling that grit in every bar. And Nas? A living icon. From his debut, he cemented his place in hip-hop history, working with the best producers like DJ Premier, Pete Rock, and Large Professor. These are the artists who made me fall even deeper in love with hip-hop.

With this remix, I wanted to pay homage to their legacy while adding my own touch. This is what we do at Ofa—bridging eras, celebrating the sound we love, and keeping the underground spirit alive.

Man this one just came together, don't know what to say, just really happy with how it turned out. Love making these kind of beats, nostalgic vibe is so heavy here, so I thought this track from Artifacts would fit perfectly. If you haven't heard of Artifacts you've gotta go check their albums man they are insane, nothing but gems especially their first 2. Highly highly recommended, RIP to Tame One, gone way too soon. They've always stood out to me cause of how much they show love to proper graffiti culture, something that for me goes hand in hand with Hip Hop. I love all types of graffiti from tags to pieces, always brings a smile to my face and makes me think of Hip Hop. The stuff that was going on in New York in the 70s and 80s and even then London in the 80s and 90s is insane man, especially all the trains that were covered with crazy complicated pieces.
