I highly recommend all of Little Brother’s work if you haven’t heard of them, I’d say The Minstrel Show is my favourite album, but they have gems across their whole discography. I remember being so gassed to find out 9th wonder was part of an official group that he produced for, and they definitely don’t disappoint, the vibe of their music is super infectious with a real clear love and passion for Hip Hop.

I’ve had this acapella for years but never felt compelled to remix it until now: the original track is a pretty different vibe so I was happy that it fit this beat even though I had to speed it up loads, cause it gave it a different vibe where I was tryna go for a more upbeat carefree mood. It’s kind of similar to how I was feeling with my most recent remix of MF DOOM’s ‘My Favourite Ladies’, I wanted to focus on an aspect of the lyrics (which in this track is the more positive outlook of taking life for what it is and not stressing too much) and really build on that by making a beat with a similar vibe, to emphasise what I was focusing on and rating in the song. Mixing the beat was blessed, everything came together pretty smooth, but I had a lot of trouble getting the verses sounding right over the beat. The chorus fit perfectly no real issues, but for some reason the highs in the verses were sounding mad out of place, maybe because of the highs in the sample, so it took a lot of trial and error to get the vocals in a place where I was comfortable with how the remix sounded.

I hope people enjoy this one, I was really trying to express some positive energy through music this week, hopefully it comes across.
