9cups is the new house music based project from Wellington producer and longtime beatmaker Maz Hermon. (Previous projects include Western Dip, Roy G & the BIVinators, Mazroy, Felix Fielding). 
9cups Debut EP Tee Time 9pm is a groove-focused exploration of soulful house — emotionally resonant, subtly nostalgic, and built for modern-day dancefloors both big and small. Kitchen to club.
The latest single, “Your Love”, offers a heartfelt, steady-paced entry point into the world of 9cups. It's house music that channels the emotional simplicity of shared joy: dancing with your friends when the selector gets it just right and your emotional cups feel full to overflowing.
Rooted in Dilla era boom bap foundations and informed by the legacy of Chicago and Detroit's legendary underground club culture, this EP is as much about process as it is about performance. Built on the (Te Whanaganui a Tara made) Deluge and influenced by years of unfinished beats and late-night sessions, Tee Time 9pm is about letting go of perfectionism, having a good time, finishing music, and releasing it into the wild.
You might find dj9cups playing tunes round Te Whanganui a Tara these days and throwing a few 9cups originals in the mix when it feels right.
