M.RUX records legendary set after legendary set, and he's back after some time since his last one, joining us for our birthday número cinco. Soulful, bluesy, world exotica, misty psychedelia and of course, crazy good drums. 

"It's all framed in by samples of Georges Perec and Bernard Queysanne's film:
"Un Homme Qui Dort" from 1974 
which to seems fit our current situation pretty well."

Connecting for such a special moment, the artwork comes from a collab between collage geniuses Ventral is Golden and Dima Rabik. Their visual work is enchanting and them working together for this is just heartwarming.

The album Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz and João Gilberto was recorded 55 years ago. It was restoring the prestige of American jazz which, at the time, was in decline. It’s one of the best-selling jazz albums of all time, and received Grammy Awards for Best Jazz Instrumental Album, Individual or Group and Best Engineered Recording – Non-Classical. A couple of years later It became the first non-American album to win a Grammy for Album of the Year in 1965.

Getting together for a Getz/Gilberto Tribute is the saxophonist Rodrigo Sha, a pupil of Stan Getz, with a renowned bossa-nova career playing with the well-known Brazilian group Bossacucanova; the singer Bebel Gilberto and having countless recordings with the master of bossa Roberto Menescal; and the singer and bossa-nova
guitar player Mauricio Pessoa, a pupil of João Gilberto, with a recognized discography and career between Rio and New York.

After an epic sold-out release show at the most renowned jazz club in the world, Blue Note, in the birthplace of bossa-nova, Rio de Janeiro, Getz/Gilberto by Sha/Pessoa and other talented performers now go on tour with vision, vigour and voice.

Artwork designer Rodrigo Bleque and reputed plastic artist Maria Lynch, and graphic setup Mikkel Benediktson.

Copenema - Presents Sha Plays Getz & Pessoa Sings Gilberto (Full Album) - 0296

The danish Jacob Gurevitsch unleashed his impressive Spanish guitar skills and laced together ‘Melancolía’ in Majorca. And it is Majorca where the Grammy-nominated Buika, the flamenco singer with attitude who takes the vocal reins in ‘Melancolía’, originally comes from.

The song drips with emotion, an exploration of love and beauty and recourse for painful times.

Danes are known for their tendency to- wards melancholy and therefore Copen- hagen newcomers DJ DIVO & OliO has made a dub inspired, almost Gotan Pro- ject like remix of 'Melancolía'. Together with the added drums and dubby effects DJ DIVO & OliO lets the grey Nordic despondency make way for a kind of poetic wallowing that compliments the Spanish guitar and Buika’s singing.

The song also represents a massive turning point in Jacob’s life after a great friend passed, a movement in which appreciation of people and things became the key to life.
