 Ram Dass leads a 35 minute meditation, originally recorded January 1981, in Sydney Australia. 

Ram Dass guides a soma (divine nectar) meditation, focusing on drawing the living spirit in through the breath and body - and releasing the stuff in you that is keeping you from being with the universe: fears, negativity, doubt, inadequacy, anger, loneliness...replenishing your body with healing energy. Release the things you don't need in order to be in the spirit.

Big Sky Bell Meditation - Jack Kornfield

I made this track to help me meditate whilst on a bus/train/plane. Download it to your mp3 player and/or copy it to CD to use at home. This is not a Guided Session, no soothing American voice directing you, just the sound of Tibetan bells at various intervals and silence inbetween. I've made suggestions below but you don't have to follow them. 

00:00 Get ready for nothing! 
open sacred space, adopt a seated position with your hands on your lap, head looking forward, back straight but not stiff. Relax, everything will be alright...
00:20 - MEDITATE NOW! 
Close your eyes when the first tibetan bell sounds. observe your breathing, don't think about controlling it, imagine your breath is the sea rolling up and down a beach that you're sat on. if you find your mind wandering off, it's ok, be aware of it and bring it back to your breathing. 
05:20 - a second bell - 
observe the sounds outside of your body without judging them. Then scan your body from hear to toe, make yourself aware direct your breathing through your body as you go. Be aware of the ground beneath you, the force of Gravity. 
15:20 -  two deeper bells end the meditation. 
Slowly open your eyes giving them to time to refocus and adjust to the outside world once more. Close sacred space. 
16:30 - one last bell ends the track.

WEEK 1 MEDITATION: This is the core mindfulness meditation to use throughout throughout your intro to mindfulness and meditation course.  Choose either this track or another body scan track to listen to.  We recommend practising this meditation once per day.
