Milan-based Lamusa II is an Italian musician, producer and DJ who represents expertise in meticulously crafted moody, leftifield electronics, often packaged in an adventurous melting pot of styles. His fluidity as a producer is well exhibited on his recently released album DON’T on Jay Glass Dubs’ label Extended Techniques, where various musical collaborations come together in a trip-hop infused work dripped in poetry and sensuality. His E.S.T. mix is a carrier bag of tracks reminiscent of this unique and recognizable sound – an hour long journey into the imaginary of an esteemed figure of Italy’s contemporary music scene.

"The autumn equinox marks the moment when restlessness fades, and inner peace gradually takes over," said @kerenahsu. This mix comes from the live recording of her DJ set at our "Fallinging Upon -- Ambient Greenhouse" party on Aug. 31, 2024.

"I hope this set helps dispel any anxious feelings. It's perfect for any time (except when you're looking for a high). It works well as background music and feels comfortable and calming. I even listen to it while playing video games (?" shared Kerena.

Kerena is currently based in Taipei and began DJing in the year of 2022. Her diverse musical influences, ranging from disco, soul, rare grooves, hip-hop, to jazz have shaped a rich foundation for her DJing. 

Starting her DJ journey by exploring everything deep, funky, and soulful, her sets interweave various genres such as house, leftfield bass, and breaks, creating warmth and a unique atmosphere with intensely rhythmic, euphoric song selections.

inging: "Share a track from the mix with us?"

Kerena: "When I was invited to DJ at inging's “Ambient Greenhouse”, the first track that came to mind was definitely “Duel” by Posm. I first heard this song by chance at a record store in Tokyo. The atmosphere of the shop and the track had a strange chemistry that made me unable to leave, as if I were drawn in. I later found out that Posm is actually an alias for Cousin, a producer I already loved, in his ambient works!"

Recently, Kerena has gained new perspectives on DJing. After watching Theo Parrish's interview at Potato Head, she's been inspired to seek out warmer sounds.

inging：「挑首歌分享一下？」

Kerena：「被邀請來inging的 “Ambient Greenhouse” 放歌時，第一個想到絕對要放的歌就是 Posm的 “Duel”，這首歌是在東京一家record store偶然聽到的，當下店裡給的氛圍和這首歌有著奇妙的化學作用，讓我久久無法離開，彷彿被吸住了一般，後來才發現Posm其實就是我很喜歡的producer “Cousin” 別名的ambient作品！」

近期的Kerena在放歌方面有些新的觀點，看了Theo Parrish在Potato Head的採訪，也開始想找回更溫暖的音色。

Autumn Equinox 秋分 (Qiufen)

The midpoint of autumn, when day and night are of equal length. After the “autumn equinox”, temperatures will noticeably cool down. However, the elders often advise not to layer on too many clothes too early, as a moderate chill in autumn helps the body adapt to lower temperatures—a practice known as “autumn freezing (秋凍)”. Better to adapt accordingly than to avoid overcompensating.

秋季的中間點，晝夜時長相等。秋分後氣溫將明顯轉涼，然而老一輩的常說勿提早增加過多衣物，適度的秋涼刺激，助於人體提高對低溫的適應力，俗稱「秋凍」。宜隨機應變，忌適得其反。
