Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Wednesday evening (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. 

We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks (and remixes of tracks) that have been previously submitted, and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

Christmas songs and the like are also not eligible for the Listening Post, although we will collect these into a playlist that will be published on 24 December.

Ronin is the 5th Single release by Re:O. This high energy, blood pumping and aggressive metal anthem combines Metal with dark pop, J pop influences and dissonance that would get any fan of  Metal, Metalcore, Nu Metal, Post-hardcore and Rock moving and headbanging. This song would suit any playlist within the genres mentioned.  

Ronin’ lyrics describe being betrayed by those closest to you and forging your new path with revitalized meaning and proving those who betrayed your trust wrong. Ronin explores the crippling self doubt and self immolation that afflicts us after being betrayed by those we trust and look up to. It then explores the exhilarating emotions of self discovery, finding a sense of belonging and confidence. This story is captivated using the imagery of a masterless samurai - The Ronin. This emotional journey is captivated utilizing a mixture of Japanese and English spoken lyrics, aggressive catchy guitar riffs with eccentric beautiful synth, vocal melodies and dissonance to create a Metal anthem that perfectly emulates the feeling of being lost within yourself and then the journey of self discovery and awakening that will leave you wanting more.

Welsh indie artist Aderyn has returned with new single Hangxiety, out on August 26th. The track channels 90's riot grrrl influences such as Bikini Kill and Sleater Kinney. In under 3 minutes,
Hangxiety takes the listener on a raucous journey through a wild night out. Driving, fuzzy bass underpins the song, and the anti-melodic chorus drums on the ear like swirling thoughts the morning
after.
Aderyn says: “I wrote this song after a big night out in Bristol. The line about oat milk will probably be controversial but there’s nothing worse in my opinion than being hungover and not being able to have
a proper cup of tea.”
In its 2 minute 20 run time, Hangxiety careens through Aderyn’s vortex of thoughts. Lyrics pose important questions such as ‘am I wasting my life?’ and ‘did Avril Lavigne really die in 2003?’. As the
existential dread builds, the music cuts between heavy groove based riffs and climaxes with a more frenetic punk outro.
Aderyn won the Welsh Music Prize Triskell Award in 2022 and has been played on Radio 6 and Radio X. Her 2nd EP Foreverever is set for release in late 2024. Hangxiety is the first single.
