This song gets it's inspiration from an 11th century yogini -- Machik Labdron -- and the Tibetan Buddhist practice of Chöd. I highly recommend giving this practice a try through a guided meditation by Lama Tsultrim which starts at 21 minutes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEbJ_maF_fo&t=1252s 

1. Locate the Demon – where in the body do you hold your demon most strongly? What is its texture? 
2. Personify the Demon – Allow the energy you find in the body to take personified form as a demon right in front of you 
3. Become the Demon – discover what the demon needs by putting yourself in its place. Ask: What do you want? What do you need? How will you feel when you get what you need? 
4. Become the Nectar - imagine dissolving your own body into nectar or whatever it is that the demon needs, let it flow to the demon. Nurture it to complete satisfaction. 
5. There may be a being remaining. Ask it — are you the ally? If not, wait for the ally to appear. Ask it: how will you protect me? How will you help me? How can I access you? What pledge do you make to me? Thank the ally for appearing and integrating it into your body. 
6. Rest in Emptiness – rest in the open awareness that comes from dissolving into emptiness.

Demons - What we fear ; anything that blocks complete inner freedom – loneliness, doubt, anger, jealousy, shame, anything draining your energy. 
Gods - What we wish for, our hopes, what we are obsessed with, what we long for, our attachments, 
God-Demons - when a hope and a fear are closely attached to each other, when we shift back and forth between hope and fear
