This is awesome! I've been looking for Sketches in Sound for decades. Used to listen on AFN Berlin when I lived in Brussels from '76 - '82. I'd be up late listening to the rock shows, and Pete would come on. Even though I was a teenager, great radio is great radio! I never heard before or since, someone tie their show together so perfectly.

Hikoki Gumo  "Mellowdrive”

Hikoki Gumo is an 'absolute improv duo' consisting of Ryuta Cosino, the guitarist of Razoku, and Shigekazu Otake, the drummer of cro-magnon, both three-piece jam bands. This is the very first piece of work from the duo, and includes three extra-long tunes spanning around 10 minutes or so each. The tracks transform freely, rushing from a progressive-ish development into a cosmic four-on-the-floor, and switches from solid funk to a psychedelic session. The duo’s acrobatic exchanges wouldn't let go of your ears. It's a danceable and yet thrilling collection of 'live-recorded' music.
