Here´s our 45th Podcast mixed by...

...our dude Johnny for Pleasure. His sound has been described as telling deep, melodic stories that, in their combination, convey the feel of an overall composition.

Born in Berlin but inspired to stand behind the decks after experiencing the Love Parade and discovering the Electroscene in Rostock, he put his first sets together in 2011, which quickly became popular among his circle of friends. Following a few private gigs, he started playing in clubs and at Open Air events in and around Rostock, to which he has transferred his original desire from his initial "small get-together" days: inspiring people to dance.

Johnny for Pleasure presents Afterhour Sounds Podcast Nr. 45

Here´s our 46th Podcast mixed by...

...Simon Drosten based in Bielefeld, Germany.
Inspired by the sound of berlin and the golden era of bar25 Simon recorded his first mixtapes six years ago in his hometown Gütersloh, Germany. One year later he moved to Bielefeld and became one of the charter members of the open air festival ‚wapelbeats‘, which has become the biggest electronic music festival in eastern westphalia. Andhim, Super Flu, Kolombo and Dirty Doering are only a few djs, who joined the festival in Gütersloh in the past few years. Nowadays ‚wapelbeats‘ welcomes up to 10.000 visitors a year. 

In the meantime Simon regularly published deep melodic mixtapes and startet a corporate dj-project with his mate Martin Den Hollander, which led them to Berlin, Austria, Munich and so on. Together they released their first track „Wellenreiter“ in 2013. By and by Simon refined his sound - music does not need 125BPM to enthuse people – it hast o be honest.

Unser 47ter Podcast wird euch präsentiert vom...

... DJ-Ensemble “Die Höhenregler", das sich aus Sebastian und Daniel zusammensetzt. Beide stammen aus dem Münchner Umland, nähe Erding. Sie zeigten mit bereits 15 Jahren Interesse an der elektronischen Musikszene. Beide erkannten schnell, dass man mit Musik Menschen begeistern aber viel wichtiger auch erreichen kann.

Man könnte hier jetzt noch aufzählen mit welchen Acts und auf welchen Festivals Sie schon spielten aber das tut eigentlich nichts zur Sache! Fakt ist: „Die Höhenregler“ polarisieren und das ist auch so gewollt! Typisch Bayrisch – allerdings nicht mit Breezn, Weißwurscht oder an Weißbier sondern mit Ihren kompromisslos rockenden DJ-Sets, den eigenen Events, vielseitigen Produktionen und dem Spaß am Artist Leben, welche Sie gerne mit Leuten teilen! (die Sie mit Ihrem Dialekt überhaupt verstehen!)

Legendär sind mittlerweile auch schon Ihre Aufbabbal (Aufkleber), welche bei jedem Gig die wunderschönen Hintern der weiblichen Gäste verzieren.

Kurz zusammengefasst: Die Höhenregler sind Arbeitswütige, waschechte Erdinger eben, die mit Ihren abwechslungsreichen Tech House Sets frisch und dennoch druckvoll jedes Publikum begeistern. In Ihren Sets findet sich unter anderem Musik von bekannten Labels wie der Bar 25, Stil vor Talent, Formatik etc. wieder, woran man merkt wie ausgereift die Sets der beiden Buam sind. Auf Ihrem Weg nach oben meistern bzw. regeln Sie jede Höhe mit Bravur.

Tober&Tober ( Alle Tanzen // Hannover ) presents Afterhour Sounds Podcast Nr.102

Blut ist bekanntlich dicker als Wasser und Familie ist ein Bund fürs Leben. Dass dies nicht nur leere Phrasen sind leben und lieben Simon und Marvin so leidenschaftlich vor wie es nur sein kann. So verwundert es auch nicht, dass das gemeinschaftliche Erlebnis für die beiden einen hohen Stellenwert besitzt. 

Seit nun etwas mehr als 5 Jahren stehen die beiden gebürtigen Hildesheimer Jungs Seite an Seite - sowohl vor als auch hinter den Decks und frönen ihrer gemeinsamen Liebe - die elektronische Musik. Etwa zur gleichen Zeit riefen sie auch ihre eigene Partyreihe namens ‘Alle Tanzen’ ins Leben, welche sich in den zurückliegenden Jahren zu einer absoluten Erfolgsgeschichte entwickelt hat. Gemeinsam mit ihren Freunden von Nackt auf Tahiti und Into the Woods Germany haben sie in der Kulturfabrik Löseke Hildesheim ein Zuhause gefunden, welches sie seither unzählige Male mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail verzaubert und so zu einer absoluten Top-Adresse in Mitteldeutschlands Clubkultur gemacht haben. 

Als DJ & Produzenten brennen Simon und Marvin ebenso leidenschaftlich für ihre Sache und so verwundert es auch nicht dass auch ihr musikalisches Schaffen von einer unbändigen Qualität geprägt ist. Dabei ergänzen sich die Jungs wirklich wie Yin und Yang und das hört und fühlt man bei ihrem Sound auf ganz besondere Weise. Ihr Podcast für unsere Reihe macht da keine Ausnahme - ein Set mit dem Prädikat ‘Weltklasse’ und nein da übertreiben wir ganz sicher nicht, aber davon könnt ihr euch gern selbst überzeugen.

It was Wednesday night, and anticipation was high. Robot Heart and Mayan Warrior were to link up for the very first time in Burning Man history. So despite it being my third Burn, and second time playing the bus, it felt like my first time all over again. There is truly nothing like seeing the surreal orgy of lights from atop the bus; its glowing, pulsing heart serving as a beacon admidst the entropy. A sea of neon bicycles followed us until we found the perfect spot in the desert. Suddenly the crowd kept multiplying as the Mayan Warrior converged. The energy in the air was palpalbe and increasing in intenisty by the minute. At one point after mixing a record I looked back up to see my surroundings and realized our meeting place had completely transformed into another dimension. It was the beginning of one of the most intense nights of my life. And I am extremely grateful to have been a part of that mystical experience. Thank you to Robot Heart and everybody involved in creating the magic. I will never forget it.
