Our 30th TAU Cast comes from photographer, dj, and producer Katja Ruge. Her images shaped magazines such as Intro and Groove. Deeply rooted in electronic music she portrayed acts like Aphex Twin, Laurent Garnier, and ÂME, to name a few. With her music project Can Love Be Synth, together with Frank Husemann, she creates music in full analog swing at the infamous Synthesizerstudio Hamburg at Uebel & Gefährlich. Their track 'Peanuts' was part of our limited 'Palo Santo' V.A last year. Enjoy!

TAU Cast 030 - Katja Ruge (Can Love Be Synth)

Physically and creatively Shubostar loves to travel. The South Korean born DJ and producer has immersed herself in the bustling music scenes of Thailand and Mexico and now she's setting up camp in Berlin, but through her music it's outer space that she loves to explore.

Her DJ sets and productions see her navigate celestial electronics, from disco and synth to techno and house, which she terms as cosmic disco. As well as releasing music via Anomalies Anonymes and Ano Ano, on top of remixes for labels like Roam Recordings and Eskimo, she captains uju Records which is a platform for her own music, brought to life by Korean painter Daryung kim's artwork.

Recorded at her international space station, she sees us into the weekend with a mix primed and ready for a Friday night that showcases her intergalactic tastes...

Shubostar: The 'Shine A Light On' Mix

Aural trace is the solo project of Berlin-based chilean musician and producer Manuel Ortuzar, half of Random Atlas‘s duo and co-founder of the record label Odd Pleasures. His signature sound blends influences from New Wave, Post Punk and Electro, resulting in energetic, dark and introspective music, combined with epic cinematic soundscapes. 

He has released music on Logical Records, Odd Pleasures and his debut EP on Play Pal Music, where he received the support of artists like Jennifer Cardini, Curses, Chloe or Justin Robertson and has upcoming works on labels like Ombra INTL, back on his own imprint Odd Pleasures and more to be announced.

Moderna's style is described as a dark heady blend of Dark Disco, Elektro, Acid and Techno with wrought darkened vocals that have become her signature distinction.

Her discography includes 3 EPs with Mexican artist Theus Mago which are on Kill the DJ’s Lumiere Noire series, French label La Dame Noir and Barcelona-based This Side Up.

Her most recent remixes were for Sebastien Chenut of Scratch Massive, Macauley on Twirl Records, Imaski on Establishment, Machino on Glauben Records and the latest for Bad Habits of Lithuania.

Now residing in Berlin the Los Angeles transplant is touring worldwide and curates her well-regarded Hybrid Radio show and Label Brave New Rave.
