This song came about from my first relationship which started around the end of 2018/start of 2019. We were only together a year, but have stayed on and off in the years since. One thing that lead to me and my ex breaking up was music. She never understood or had too much patience for the amount of time, money and care I spent on my passion. At some point toward the end of our relationship she kept bringing up us going on vacation. This always brought a lot of anxiety on for me as of course I wanted to please my significant other but I had my album 'F.A.T.E' that I had been working on for 4 years coming out soon which also meant I had a lot to pay for. I didn't even think I deserved a vacation because of everything that was on my plate and I didn't deem myself successful. I was still in the same place in the same city and broke. One day she asked about going on vacation while we were out at dinner and I told her I wanted to but I had to get everything payed for on the music end as my next single was about to come out and I still needed a video. She rolled her eyes so hard with so much disappointment I wanted to throw up. It felt like another one of those times someone who I cared about didn't actually believe in or care about my dream. They only tolerated it until it became an inconvenience to them. I payed the bill and stormed out of the restaurant. I almost broke up with her that day but it would take another few months. Around this time I ended up getting my hands on a SK808 beat, shoutout the big homie, the rest is history. The first time I heard it the hook came into my head and my relationship with my ex did the rest. I may not have been able to take a vacation back then, but like with everything else, If i can't find it somewhere I will make it myself.

Inspired by over a year of couch hopping, adderall and 03Greedo . Dash was the first song I recorded in the b room of Paradise Studios with OvrThnk during HBC’s artist camps in 2020. The beat was actually an accident. A skeleton that OvrThnk didn’t even mean to play at the start of the night. But everything happens for a reason. Feat Quadie Diesel.
