In 1999 I think I joined up with a crew called The Next Level Crew who My first love for music was actually Ska music which then developed in to Two Tone music and my first ever piece of vinyl was The Special Too Much Too Young.
As for Djing that started in my late 20’s as a bed room Dj playing some of my brother’s collection of Soul, Motown, and Jazz music.
I got to befriend a Dj called Roby who taught me how to bpm my tunes so it would help me develop a lot faster and showed me how to mix. Whilst I tried to develop my own style I you to travel all over clubbing to Havana Manchester were I herd Bizzy B who would tease the people with a sample of the tune, Seventh Heaven One Step who played a lot of Swing and party anthems and the place Trevor M & Simon School boy would mix. I used listen to Skyline Radio on a Sunday to Soul Mix master say no more.
Obviously there was more to how I started but that would take forever …
were in my eyes the best thing to come out of Wolverhampton for a long time.; We hosted Beverley night after parties, had a number of residencies in Wolverhampton, played all over the country to many to mention. 
At time nothing could go wrong and due to doing so well it then led to Asante moving onto radio 1Xtra with the rest of us being on the East West Street team ( Hakeem)
Along the way through our net working we met Stucky, Chris Rock, Jennifer and a lot more which helped us all in various ways. 
I used to do mixes for 1xtra, 3 Style as well as guest appearances on Dj Roby’s Futcher Flava show. Roby after a number of years decided to call it a day then me and Dj Maxx who used to run Ruby Red Records took over and started The Show called The Sunday Soul Selection.
To date I still work up and down the country playing on some of the biggest nights in the country – Soul Society, Time Tunnel, Soul Boutique, Urban Rewind, The Soul Togetherness, Deep Soul, Back In The Day and Old Skool Throw Back. Occasionally I do a slot on Skyline Radio which has been going for over 20 years and is the oldest community radio going thank’s to Dread Lester god rest his soul.
