Amsterdam’s Moving Into Tucson has become known for their relentless creative output. But even they sometimes manage to surprise themselves. Over the course of just two years, the band has released no less than 17 singles and two full-length albums. With that kind of pace, it’s inevitable that some tracks get left behind, songs that were written, recorded, but ultimately didn’t make the final cut. Not because they weren’t good enough, but simply because the band had too much to choose from.

Now that the dust has settled after the release of People Of The World, the band—together with their label—took a moment to revisit what they lovingly call “the ball pit.” A collection of tracks that, upon relistening, made them stop and say, “Wait, how did we miss this one?” The result? Gems Left Behind: seven songs that deserve to be heard.

Think of it as a bonus, an unexpected encore. A closing chapter that stands strong on its own.

What is there left to say? I’ve put it all out there for better or for worse. I think ‘Corazón’ or this album could speak better to it than my writing here. Most of ‘LNR_[05]’ too. The moment I met her gaze, anything that wasn’t her in my heart was instantly seared away. I spent that summer running away from those feelings until finally, during the final week of the residency where I met her, the feelings kind of hit a boiling point. I didn’t want to live with regret so I gave in..and it swept me away like a flood. I couldn’t outrun it. I still can’t. I feel her in every heartbeat. I see her eyes in every sunset.
