Welcome to Eckhardt And The House 2018: New Year, New Sound.

Over the last years, Eckhardt And The House treated the listener to eight singles and an album release full of laid-back, easy listening, trendy nerdy and surprisingly accessible hipster sounds. Now it's time for something new. A new logo, a different style of artwork and most of all, a change of sound. But all that with keeping the existing Eckhardt And The House fan in mind.

Eckhardt And The House has developed towards a more uptempo and danceable indie sound but certainly didn’t lose any charm. The band has been taking elements from pop to avant-garde to funk and twisted it all up into a signature sound with wild experimentation and disregard for the norm. First single If You Cannot Talk is a fine example, a tale of a young girl on a long distance bus ride set to music which reminds us of Talking Heads glory days on the one hand and nowadays Modest Mouse on the other.

All previous Eckhardt And The House singles did very well on Dutch radio and were played for months on national, regional and local stations. They also got airplay on national radiostations in Belgium, Switzerland, Italy plus regional and local stations in Germany and France. Press coverage rolled in from Denmark to Japan and from the United States to Australia. Several singles reached iTunes- and Spotify Viral Charts in The Netherlands, Italy, France and Turkey, on Spotify the total number of Eckhardt And The House plays is well over 1.2 million.  

Eckhardt And The House is the project by producer, singer, multi-instrumentalist, dramatist and actor Rik Elstgeest. Rik is known from his previous bands Kopna Kopna and Alamo Race Track, as well as being composer and producer for Zazi. Together with Gerry Arling (of Arling & Cameron fame) and Bo Koek he is the core of Dutch electropop surprise Mass Electric.
