Tchaikovsky - Barcarolle from The Seasons | Piano & Orchestra

“Galactic Concerto” is a concertante composition for piano and orchestra by Georgii Cherkin. It is also known as “Galactic Fantasy” because of its free form and improvisation roots. The composition is presented in a single movement, although it has four contrasting movements, performed without interruption and a piano cadenza right before the last movement.

The composition introduced 3D Mapping for the first time in a classical composition for piano and orchestra, which was especially developed and precisely synchronized with the music itself.

“Galactic Concerto” was world premiered in “Bulgaria Hall” in 16th of September 2023, with Cantus Firmus Orchestra, conducted by Grigor Palikarov and performed by the composer himself.

“Galactic Concerto” for Piano and Orchestra

I am a concert pianist and composer. Since young age I feel a great passion of the symphonic sound. During the years I have performed hundred times many difficult and famous piano concertos for piano and orchestra. I did many arrangements of classical music for piano and orchestra, including the Moonlight sonata by Beethoven, The Seasons by Tchaikovsky, Claire de Lune by Debussy and film music like Harry Potter theme, Imperial March and Yoda theme from Star Wars, The Pirates of the Caribbean and more than 100 other arrangements. I have recently composed the Galactic Concerto for Piano and Orchestra premiered in 2023.
